ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – “It’s a shame that the RVIPF has one officer with the courage to ensure that law and order prevails when it comes to traffic especially in Road Town,” said Myrna P. Chalwell.

Ms Chalwell was referring to the re-instating of traffic Cop Glenn ‘Supa Cop’ Callwood who was re-instated to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) on Monday November 7, 2016 after being interdicted from duty by former Commissioner of Police David Morris.

The Magistrate’s Court in 2013 charged Callwood for indecent assault and was found guilty of the offense on January 29, 2014. The Virtual Complainant (VC), a male Maintenance Supervisor with the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, had reported that Callwood grabbed and squeezed his private parts.

However, following the court procedures, then Commissioner of Police David Morris instituted disciplinary measures against Callwood, which caused him to lose his government job as a police officer.

He was subsequently re-instated by the present Commissioner of Police (CoP) Mr Michael Matthews. However, since his return many callers to this news site and those on social media have been singing praises to Supa Cop as he had taken on the task to restore order in traffic especially in Road Town.

Ms Chalwall, while expressing her gratitude to the CoP and Callwood, said it’s a shame that only one cop has the balls to do the job without fear or favour. “Why only ‘Supa Cop’ strict on traffic? There are so many others on the street every day and a set of lawlessness continues to happen right before their eyes and they do nothing about it. They look at faces, friends and relatives and just allow a pack of nonsense to take over the town.”

On social media, Ian Clark posted, “Great to see Super Cop back on the job and controlling the Road Town traffic. This afternoon (November 9) he is stopping vehicles stopping to pick people up immediately after they exit the round about when heading east. About time this was controlled and stopped. Good on him!” There were several other similar posts by others.

However, according to Ms Chalwall, the CoP needs to now put some fire under the feet of other traffic cops to ensure that they do just as good a job. “We know that there is a tight parking issue in the main center of Road Town, that’s no denying, but there are so many other available parking that persons can utilise but people have gotten lazy and don’t want to park and walk their errands through.”

@the rock. How the hell he should do his job to the best he can but yet you think he being cocky. So only when it's convenience to you he should slow the pace, but other times he should do his job

@Hmm, he is not over doing it, he is doing his job, too many law breakers in this place, especially when it comes to traffic. The BVI I believe is the most lawless place in the world. Leave the man let him enforce the laws.

Ayo keep praising this man like he doing something so good. All he does is harass innocent people. There is a difference bewtween being a good cop, doing their job and enforcing the law and just being a plain nusicence to the public. This man is super ignorant and seems to have a personal axe to grind with the public. Putting him back on the street was a huge mistake but time will tell that tale. Hope no one gets in trouble for his stupidity and share ignorance.

If the other police officers were doing their job maintaining good order and discipline and serving and protecting as they took an oath to do, Supa Cop would not be seen as nuisance to some motorists who deliberately violate the traffic laws. I see no evil, hear no evil by some police officers put unequal and unneeded focus on Supa Cop for doing his job. Every violation should not end up with a ticket but violations should at least earn a warning verbal or written. Repeat offenders definitely need to be ticketed. Supa Cop as other cops should use discretion and sound judgement. Are too many police officers seeing their job as a police officer as just a gig that pays the bills? If true, sad. Mick, mate wassup wid only Supa Cop having the courage and desire to manage and control adherence to traffic laws? Wat yu gonna do mate?

None of us are perfect, so we shouldn't expect Mr. Callwood to be. However I asked myself the question what are the other officers doing? If they were doing their job he wouldn't be seen as picking on people because all of them would be doing the same thing. Look how long people parking outside Infinite Solutions and the police just drive by and do nothing. Now he's back and issuing tickets to those that park there its a problem. Why? its a no parking area. I use to take chances and don't wear my seat belt and yes I know its the law but guess what the other officers couldn't care less. Now that he is back I'm making sure never to forget it cause I know he won't have me not wearing it and those tickets are hefty.

So Mr. Callwood I welcome you back. I for one is very grateful for your return. And to the other blogger yes he is doing something good and should be praised. Its called doing his job not harassing people. He is a human-being like all of us and will make mistakes.

I encourage you to stay humble and do not become deterred by the naysayers. Keep focus and be careful of some of your colleagues for not all are happy that you're back.

IT is a nightmare heading to road town between 5 and 5 30 p.m.....most people take the left lane heading to the round about and then just cut across when they reach the round about while you sit on the right lane for eternity. Thanks to Supa cop whose presence was evident on Wednesday and Thursday. ..traffic was hassel free

Here is the answer. Callwood is a born BVI islander. If anyone else who is not from here do the same things he does it will comebe another story. Don't get me wrong...he does a good job most of the times but he also abuses his Office many times in the process. It is very good to finally see a COP doing his job with people calling out "hungry down island man go back where you from"

In caste she does not know those other traffic cops are just there for the pay check. They walk around chatting with each other buying time before they head back to the precinct with full books and claim all the drivers were well behaved that's why they could not give tickets. If police would give us an email address to randomly and anonymously email videos of them goofing off and chilling with friends it would be a different story...

Simple solution is to fire the traffic ticket boss who is there now, and promote supacop to that position. I bet those other traffic cops will not come back with full books.

During the time of Callwood been off the streets, the entire traffic situation got too out of hand and lawless. I don't think that he was or is harassing anybody. Drivers and users of the roads just need to do the right thing as required by law, then you shouldn't have a problem with him. But at the same token, I would like to see him exercise some more discretion in his decision making process. Give him the support, lets him try to clean up the streets again.

I was wondering the same damn thing? How can one man single handedly out perform an entire unit? The lack of commitment to their job is unacceptable. I have seen drivers make illegal turns right in front of Police vehicles and the morons just continue along their merry way. This place is jokey messon.

Supey don't don't study them, do what's expected of you. Of all the complaining, I haven't heared one if them saying you have written a FALSE ticket on none yet. TO SERVE AND PROTECT them ignorant behind is what you do. It's either you stand behind the law or you help them break it in which case you will have all kind of crooked friends and enemies, some of who will probably be trying get you caught up. You were only being criticised for your error because everyone was glad to have you off the streets. How can you ever OVERDO? If they don't break the law, your ticket book would always be full.

Do the right thing and always remember. You live by the sword, you die by the sword so let not your good be evil spoken of. You live for the right thing, God will always be in control.

Nothing hurts me more than when I hear the commissioner of Police asking for more Police. And nothing is more irresponsible than government using tax payers money to give the commissioner more Police... They already have too many Police.. If those they have start working delivering performing. We will have to cut. Just do half of what Callwood does.they will have more than enough police. Too much dead weight.

That's why you should check your dam peremeter before getting in your vehicle and driving off. Coulda been all your friggin nuts them was unscrewd off your tire and when you roll down hill you had a accident. Who you woulda blame if you were negligent in checking your vehicle? Check your license plate next time. I was given a ticket because my tail light was broken. I did not know who bumped me when I was parked but it was my job to inspect my vehicle before climbing in. Do I blame the law? I got my ticket and that was warning enough for me and ohhh

Am of a different sex. I do not have nuts. Callwood won't ticket me cause if he say its the law well, so be it. He make his dollar, I make mine. (Legal way)
