WEST END, Tortola, VI - Virgin Islands News Online has learnt that there was an overnight break-in at the West End Ferry Terminal, Tortola and Police are said to be investigating.

Speaking to this news site today May 14, 2014, Police Public Relations Officer Ms Diane Drayton said that there was a report that an office at the West End Ferry Terminal was broken into in what she called a burglary.

She confirmed that a safe containing an undisclosed sum of cash was taken and that police investigations were continuing.

Efforts to reach Managing Director of the BVIPA Mr Claude O. Skelton-Cline for a comment proved futile. Similarly, this news site made efforts to contact Customs and Immigration authorities on the break-in to no avail.

This news site will bring more details as they become available.

It is obviously an employee that works there did it, probably with a friend they need to do some serious questioning with the workers.

Oh what a coincidence this to me seem like a Government set up, the ports never get robbed like that before but the same year they increase departure tax to fix the ports, one gets robbed, so now all of a sudden the people them are suppose to see the need for a new port now, and just in time to be hit with another increase for the Departure tax, this well now needed Security tax for $5. This is a inside job who would really know money would be kept in the ports, so really you want to tell me a safe containing an undisclosed sum of cash was taken so conveniently just before the new Security tax they plan to add on to Departure tax later this year, The Government doing its people terrible raising the cost of Passport, Waivers, and Departure tax. I wish I could see the good in raising prices or fees and taxing people left, right and center while not increasing their salaries, your raising the cost of living and you know it.
