ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – A small group of young Virgin Islanders have formed a movement to promote health and wellness in the Virgin Islands by introducing a product called Zrii that is expected help persons lose weight and develop overall wellness while offering incentives for those who have achieved their weight loss goals and opportunities to make money through the network marketing business.

Local boys Kamau Georges, Dalan Vanterpool and Roy Parillon have started the movement called Wellness Warriors where their goal, through the use of Zrii, is to help 1,000 residents or warriors lose 10 pounds or more in 2012 with the incentive for those who lose weight to win cash and other prizes.

The group has some $10,000 of cash and prizes to award for the year as incentives for weight loss.

On January 14, 2012 at the Moorings Conference Room, Zrii and the Wellness Warriors movement were introduced to the Virgin Islands and a group of interested persons.

Zrii was officially launched in May 2008 as an international Ayurvedic wellness company and according to its website, www.zrii.com, its health products are considered to be the only ones that originate in the 5,000-year-old wisdom of Ayurveda and gives an individual more than just antioxidants. Each natural ingredient is specifically chosen to compliment the Amalaki fruit, one of the core health foundations in Ayurvedic principles, and provide a specific function to the body. Zrii also holds the most prestigious endorsement in the industry—an endorsement from the Chopra Center for Wellbeing owned by Dr. Deepak Chopra and is the only product that has ever earned his endorsement.

The company currently has on the market a nutritional drink made from the Amalaki fruit, a detox and cleanse product called Purify which is also proven to help lose weight, a nutritional shake called Achieve, which also assist to curb appetite and help with weight management, and Accell, an on-the-go weight management product.

Persons can also sign up online to be part of the Z Body Challenge and also win prizes based on their weight loss.

To learn more about the local leg of the programme persons can visit www.viwellnesswarriors.com to learn more about the products and how they can join, and also win great prizes.

Travis Martin, VIP of Sales at Zrii said the biggest reason he came to the Virgin Islands was to support the leadership of Georges and Vanterpool.

“They want the BVI, they call it their family, to have a body transformation, to look great and feel great. Our purpose of being here was to support that leadership and let everyone know the company is here to support anyone else who gets involved in the Z body challenge, work with Kamau’s group. We just want to let everyone know we are tangible, we are real.”

While there are ongoing studies to show the scientific relations to weight loss and health transformations, Martin says there are many testimonials from those who use the products with evidence of weight loss and transformations.

Martin said currently Zrii is in the United States where it is based, Israel, Columbia, Peru, Mexico City, and is experiencing double digit growths in Latin American markets as obesity is a big problem there.

Losing weight, health and wellness, and winning prizes are not the only benefits of Zrii, as it is a network marketing business that offers numerous incentives for promoting its products which are done mainly through persons who would have used the product themselves and reap the benefits.

Explaining the money making aspect of the product, Martin said the company does not allocate marketing dollars but rather uses people to promote its products.

Meanwhile, Georges said he is super excited about the product and the turn out to the launching.

Asked what is the next step of the movement, Georges said it is to make people feel they can succeed by using the products and he himself has set some challenging goals to set an example.

As his own challenge, he pledged to run three half marathons this year, double his physical strength and get his black belt in two years, all from a vegan diet and using the Zrii products.

“I want to inspire people out there, whether you are slim, have a fitness goal, if you are overweight. The next thing is to spread the word and get people involved.”

To the people of the VI, he said: “You are capable of doing more than 50 percent of what you are doing and you haven’t even scratch the surface of what your potential is and you can create the most amazing life for yourself with just a little motivation. This is about confidence and with using weight loss, whether you transform yourself or make more money for yourself and your family.”

One of the attendees at the launch Cheryl George said she has always been concerned about her weight and her 17-year-old daughter’s and plans to try the products.

“As I sat there I had about 20 persons in mind who I know will want to use the product. I have quite a number of my friends who are concerned about their weight and I am ready to introduce them to the products. I also want my daughter to try it as she has more weight than me and when the results come from her that will definitely be a testimony to others,” added Ms. George.

Please save your money!! This is nothing more than a bunch of juices being marketed through a multi-level marketing scheme. The product is less than adequate at best. Eat healthy, exercise a bit more, and save a ton of money!!

Thank you all for your comments because they give me an opportunity to address very important concerns about this campaign and what it's really about. I especially appreciate the comments about eating healthier and exercising more from DOC and AT because that is what this is all about its about raising excitement for a healthier lifestyle and a healthier culture. I eat vegetarian myself and exercise as well as use these products and I would highly recommend it for anyone serious about loosing weight but it isn't that easier for everyone to adopt like that without help or a transition period and I absolutely do not believe in quick fixes. Products with out new awareness is may work temporarily but not long term. However I do however believe real progress can be made quickly with the proper awareness, support and a real desire for change. For example most doctor's don't know that there are some doctors curing about 90% of their cases of type 2 diabetes in 7-14 days with TRULY healthy diet and exercise but even facing illness and death many people still find it harder to eat healthier! wow! The Fact is there are many products being marketed that do work and everyone knows what to do become healthier but the real question is if we all know to eat better and exercise why don't we? Why do we have the most obese kids in the caribbean? A bridge is needed from where people are to where they know they should go. So the intent of our campaign is to Energize and excite the public then educate the public through a set of documentaries and attention grabbing incentives like the cash & prizes being offered and follow with a massive push towards exercise and diet to make it possible to be EFFECTIVE with the message of healthier lifestyle. And to give people products that DO work to help them get a great start at detoxifying their body so that their weight loss is healthier than just cutting calories. Even if you do not purchase these products or use some other products or just eat healthier our campaign will support your health goals year long with tools information and incentive to get healthier. I do believe from the bottom of my heart that these products are very effective and I've researched ayurveda and am very exciting about educating the public about its benefits but to find out more for yourself about the how truly effective the 5,000 year old science of Ayurveda is on which these products are based and to find out what your special body type (or dosha) is so you can know what illness are likely for you when your body type gets out of balance click the following link http://www.chopra.com/ayurveda And thank you for your genuine concerns about improving the health of the BVI!!

Very good comments but you kinda start the process in a wrong manner in my eyes. You needed to educate the public first about weight lost and how the body works. Take for example your body can give up about 1lbs a week of body fat if you cut your diet back by 500Calories a day. This is because 1 Lb of fat is equal to 3500Cals but then you have to address the fact that if you loose fat fast or in your case the body can go into shock and begin to hold on to any amount of fat. The body was designed to function on its own. Detox is just to start weight loss in a healthy manner but at the same time you need to give the body work to do. Looking at the area of exercise, every time we exercise our body creates toxins/ radicals which builds up and that is where your detox can help. So from my knowledge and background you need to have a balance of both diet and exercise to have an effective weight loss, your product still have a long way to come before it can provide a proper weight loss. So yes you may give me all the possible links to read about your product none of them can make me change the way I think about weight loss. First educate your self abit more in the human body physiology before you use that product because you may just end up as part of the yo yo diet band wagon. But again its a good try to go in the right direction. As for the BVI have a high level of obese children, this is clearly due to wrong diet and all the dumb video games that have the kids hooked in the house in front the TV or Computer. If you want to change that, take away video games and provide or promote more physical activities for kids and you will see a change. Try to get the new minister of education to allow PE all the way up to for 4 or even 5 so you create exercise. That is where you should look into. Please don't think I am not in support of your actions, its good to see a group of young people doing something but you should try a totally different approach.

I'm so thankful for you comments AT many would not take the time to serious put energy to this cause in a way that makes a BIG impact. I think you will enjoy the upcoming educational phases of this initiative more once eyes are looking we can really dig into the nuts and bolt of real changes we need to make in our systems and I look forward to anymore intelligent ideas and insights you may have that we can look at to improve the effectiveness of our approach.

Dear Pseudo-Doc, Please save your boiler-plate discrediting statements for the kindergarteners you normally converse with. You say "the product is less than adequate at best", really based on what evidence? Your comment serves no purpose but to allow you to spout off your personal opinions about products distributed through a multi-level-marketing channel. Your obvious lack of intelligence is obvious when you call it a juice; silly Pseudo-Doc, the product is a meal replacement shake (protein powder with herbs), since when is that a juice? On a positive note, any energy that VI locals put into health initiatives is a welcome change and sorely needed. If you don't have your health, what have you got? -- A happy distributor and healthy user of said products. http://www.JhauraWachsman.com

I totally agree with DOC, as a therapist I can't keep up with all the different things out there that try to help you with weight loss. We all did math in school and weight loss equation would probably be one of the easiest equation that we would ever come across. Weight loss = Calorie used >(greater than) Calorie intake, but that is not all you need because resistance training is needed in order to keep the weight off. Turning away from what I said and take a look at what antioxidants are, they are just something that basically cleans your body out. So in no way would they take weight off. BVI public read and educate yourself before you try this or any quick fix for weight loss. On a good note it is a great try as a business but more research and better information is need.
