BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI - Commentator and clergyman, Mr Claude O. Skelton-Cline has called on Virgin Islanders to stop complaining over the COVID-19 pandemic and do all they can to mitigate the effects of the virus in the Territory.

"If you want this government to open this country in a deliberate and a diligent way, [a] phased approach, it is incumbent that everybody plays their role and our role is to do what is being asked, and it ain't that difficult," he said.

Mr Skelton-Cline was speaking on the Thursday, July 20, 2020, of his radio show, Honestly Speaking, on ZBVI 780 AM where he also urged the populace to wear masks, sanitise hands and continue practising social distancing.

"Right now, the rest of the world... most of them, would like to be in the position we are in."

'America in a mess' - Skelton-Cline

"So let's stop whining and complaining and moaning and bemoaning... people are dying every day. America right next door who we depending on for everything is in a mess."

According to the man of the cloth, when the pandemic passes in the rest of the world, the VI will be in the greatest and best position to accept them as tourists.

"Even if we open up now, who we going to open up to? The Bahamas just shut down to American citizens. As a matter of fact, everybody will probably shut down to American citizens because of the mess of their leadership."

He reminded that the lockdown in Jost van Dyke is for the good of the country, following possible COVID-19 exposure on the Island.

Simply put, CSC has finally said something sensible; but do we have to Spend that much to say something meaningful, in a respectful and somber manner; rather than like a Jail Sentence called LOCKDOWN? Many of us would do it for Free; (in the name of Love of Country)

It’s in the air we breathe. Something is not being told to us. This is more than person to person transmittal. It has affected people who were not around anyone at all. They were only in their backyard and in the house alone, so how did they get it? Didn’t even go food shopping because they had enough to sustain themself. So how?

I am glad you have an idea what's going on. We have no clue who is behind of this Virus spreading but real research has shown it is a biochemical that can be dispersed into the air by drones or planes and it is ordorless. We need to be vigilant with what is going on in our community. This plan of action is rigged to make people think its a human to human transmission. During the lock down their was a video circulating with a high rancking man confessing some of what they are doing and he clearly said that they have come up with some inhumane ways to get rid of people without them being responsible for the crime and he said corona virus is one of them.(With a very wicked face)
After more people begin to view , Youtube took it down quickly. He was spilling his ghuts about how they started all those other disease's as well. Whoever is incharge wants us to be blind from what's really going on.

You barely know enough about this territory so you know even less about the political and factual realities of other countries.

People, mask is not good for your health as you only breathe in about 40% or less oxygen with them on.drink your bush teas and eat electrical foods everyday and you will be safe.natural herbs is the key to good health but these politicians are a disgrace to natures blessings.enough said bless up.

Lets take the UK they want to be where we are, employees furloughed without money instead of getting 80% of their wages, locked down when there is a report of 1 person getting a positive test but everyone else in that household that traveled together and slept in the same bed all test negative, yea they well jealous.

COVID-19, a deadly disease with no strong treatment protocols nor cure nor vaccines that has thus infected over 14,000,000 and killed over 600,000 globally, has triggered a double crisis in the VI, ie, health and economic. Since as yet there are no treatment protocols, cure nor vaccine, the best course of action is prevention. Practice the 3 W’s, ie, wear a mask, wash your hands and watch your distance. The VI economy that is heavily dependent on tourism has been severely hampered.

However, resuscitating the economy requires protecting health/lives to protect/revive livelihood. A premature reopening of the economy can manifest in a spike in infections that will setback any progress made towards reopening the economy, prolonging the economic hardships. Consequently, though the economic slow down is inflicting severe economic hardships and requiring painful sacrifices, reopening of the economy must be pursue in a deliberate, strategic and safe manner.

If you are telling people to wear a mask also advise them how to wear it correctly. Stop group picture taking with no mask or social distance. So contradictory. Talk about that Claude.
Viewed funeral service and also saw pics of attendees of funeral services held on VG these past weeks. Elderly people, one the most at risk persons, health professionals and others with mask worn under their noses and some without. Some shaking hands. No 6' physical distance. This is so disturbing. People are still behaving like it's business as usual.
JVD residents tested negative. Are there information that's not being disclosed to the populous. Why are the Cuban Medical team hear. This is confusing. What is going on. Lets get some random testing started.
