JOE’S HILL, Tortola, VI - An SUV sometime over the weekend of August 19, 2018, ended up stuck between two electrical poles at Joe’s Hill, on the main island of Tortola.

Many residents said, they thought that it was the missing $7.2M BVI Airways plane that had finally took flight.

But no, it was not, as it seems like the SUV rental took flight even before the scandal ridden BVI Airways, now the subject of a probe.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the SUV mishap.

Another smashed up

Meanwhile, today also, a truck was seen smashed to its front and left on the side of the road on the Sir Walter Francis Drive, dual carriageway, next to the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Road Town.

There was no details of what happened, or if any one was injured.

Hopefully, the driver and any passengers, if any, didn’t suffer any major injury(s). However, the BVI Airways tory is a sad tragedy. Temporary comic relief aside, the government’s $7.2M give away of taxpayers money to BVI Airways, a bankrupt and broke aitline, was an unexplainable, tragic, epic betrayal of BVI residents. This is among the biggest blunders, biggest failures in BVI political and governing history; this will be hung around the NDP’s neck forever and a day. It is a great case study of poor decision making, lack of due diligence......etc. Bottom line, it was a “duncy Head” decision; someone needs to be wearing a “dunce cap.” This senseless action, this plundering of the territory/treasury brought shame upon the territory. Major financial changes are urgently needed. One change that is needed is for example outside of a genuine emergency(s) any expenditure equal to or greater than $50K should be approved by the HOA. Passing the budget is only authorization to spend X amount of dollars; any expenditure above the specified $ value has to be appropriated by HOA. The responsible party(s) must be held accountable and responsible for this epic blunder, this national embrassment.......etc. Even if no laws were broken or any crimes committed, BVI residents need to know what happened; they need the 411.
