GREAT HARBOUR, Jost Van Dyke, VI – The Virgin Islands Party (VIP) will on Wednesday July 16, 2014 at 7:00 pm hold a meeting on the Sister Island of Jost Van Dyke and has invited members and supporters of the party to be present.

According to a notice released by the VIP over the weekend, the meeting will take place at Rudy’s Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke.

“Join our new Chairman, Hon. Julian Fraser RA (R3) and his entire team as they report to the membership; welcome new members, embrace new ideas, deploying new human resources to VIP committees and begin the process of identifying new leaders wishing to contest vacant positions on a VIP ticket in preparation for the next General Elections,” the notice said.

“Join TEAM VIP at its GENERAL MEETING at Rudy’s in Jost Van Dyke Wednesday 16th July at 7:00 pm,” the notice said.

It said too that for members travelling from Tortola the ferry departs from West End at 6:00pm. “The boat fare is $25.00 round trip,” the notice said.

President of the VIP Mr Carvin Malone, in a comment to this news site today July 14, 2014 said that Wednesday’s meeting is one in the many planned to take place throughout the Territory over the coming weeks.

“We had announced that within 90 to 100 days we would be meeting the district committees on each of the islands and we would be basically introducing the VIP supporters to the Chairman and the Executive body outlining the programmes as it relates to the structure of the district committees and the structure of the different organs of the party,” he said.

“This is so that we can then empower people to bring ideas forward as it relates to specific items within the district, as it relates to credible contenders for the 11 posts that we have to fill and the structure in which it would be done, so that people have a clear understanding as to the Constitution of the Virgin Islands Party, how it functions and their role as we go from district to district, committee to committee,” said Malone.

I wish the meeting was earlier so that an early ferry can be taken back to Tortola. I assume there will be...a late ferry.
