SPANISH TOWN, Virgin Gorda, VI – Led by this year’s Festival Honoree, Ms Grace Vanterpool, a kaleidoscope of colourful troupes wound their way along the streets of Spanish Town for the annual Virgin Gorda (VG) Easter Monday Festival Parade yesterday, April 21, 2014.

Several hundred persons lined the streets that led to the parade ground to witness the splash of excitement on offer and appeared unfazed by the typical late start which saw the parade moving off from approximately 3PM.

Participants also comprised various pageant queens and a few kings as well including Miss BVI, Miss Fifth Form, Miss Gorgeous and the newly crowned Calypso Monarch the Mighty Ley-Ley among others.

Several members of the House of Assembly were in attendance including Dr. The Hon. D. Orlando Smith, Dr The Hon. Kedrick D. Pickering, Hon. Myron V. Walwyn, Hon. Archibald C. Christian, Hon. Ralph T. O’Neal OBE and Hon. J. Alvin Christopher.

The parade helped to bring the curtains down on the VG Easter Festival along with entertainment from DJ Smasher, Caution Band, Xtreme Band, King Man, Final Faze and Cool Session Brass which followed later in the evening at the Festival Village.

Has anyone ever noticed that in any carnival or festival, whether in BVI or abroad, it is the women who always expose themselves while the costumes for the men usually have them covered? Just an observation!

too many groupies on VG committee. need more grown ups heading sub committees. either you are doing business or you are a fan trying to look band man. choose one.
