ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Acting Governor of the Virgin Islands (VI), Mr David D. Archer Jr. has given the 'All Clear' that the territory is out of harm's way with regards to the trajectory of Hurricane Jerry of the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season.

Mr Archer in a statement released today, September 21, 2019, said, however, that a high surf advisory will remain in effect due to poor sea conditions.

Community Spirit

According to the Acting Governor, "as a community, you made the best use of the day and prepared yourselves, your homes, your businesses for the possibility that Hurricane Jerry may change course as so many systems have."

He said in the preparatory stages for the hurricane, he was delighted that many residents reached out to render assistance to not only key servicemen, but went the extra mile to help in whatever way possible.

"What impressed me the most, was the way that so many of you took it a step further and offered yourself up as resources to your friends and neighbours," he said.

The Acting Governor further noted that the forecasters have advised that the high surf advisory will remain in place until tomorrow Sunday, September 22, 2019.

Jerry moving away

Meanwhile, according to the Department of Disaster Management (DDM), as of 11:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm Jerry was located near latitude 22.0 North, longitude 65.0 West.

"Jerry is moving toward the northwest near 14 mph, and this general motion is expected to continue today. Jerry is forecast to turn northward on Sunday and then accelerate northeastward early next week. On the forecast track, the center of Jerry has now passed the British Virgin Islands is several hundred miles North Northeast of Puerto Rico and is no longer a threat to the territory."

The DDM says that Data from an Air Force Reserve hurricane hunter plane indicate that the maximum sustained winds of Jerry remain near 65 mph with higher gusts.

They say little change in strength is forecast during the next several days and tropical-storm-force winds will extend outward up to 90 miles the centre.

The Acting Governor warned that with the passage of Jerry, the territory will continue to focus on other systems as the 2019 hurricane season continues.

This was a big blunder which cost the country to lose millions. The call was made even though we were not under any hurricane watch or warning. Somebody's head need to roll. Now here comes the damage control

WE WERE NEVER IN HARMS WAY BECAUSE WE KNEW FROM THE ONSET THAT THE HURRICANE WAS PASSING WAY NORTH OF US

The information DDM put out are based on forecast models which shift and change over time. I'm thankful that the storm moved to the North of us. These recent smart storms cannot be taken for granted. Persons are going to become complacent because we were spared this time arround. Irma still keep some of us up at nights.
Stay prepared always and be graceful.

Its nonsense to take such drastic and costly division concerning a storm 300 miles away.. Moving at a speed of less than 20mph.. With an uncertain track... Please!

Our talk a lot good Premier is very quiet. Seems like he wasn't in favour with the acting governor decision... Quietness is not his MO... He is a wise man so he is using Wisdom. Sometimes been quiet speak loudest....

Good Day Administrator of the Blog section,
Where is my comment in response to E. Leonard's comment that Climate Change is real?

I am also looking for E.Leonard's comment in response to others and where E.Leonard referred to the frequency of catastrophic storms and other types of weather and found that was removed.

Neither of our comments were hate speech or were derogative or were inciteful.

Are both our comments being censored or it was just the safe thing to remove E.Leonard's so my comments would not get posted?

Or was I being "canary in the coal mine" and afraid to allow me to be?

Do you know how Hitler got to kill so many of his own people?

It was because nobody said anything and loud enough, and those who did were censored, ridiculed or were murdered. Hitler sent many to concentration camps and were used for experiments that have created the field of psychiatry, the pharmaceutical industry, and the so called modern medical industry that we know today. Hitler had his military and coerced university students burn books that opposed Nazism and tyranny of leadership and most of all the same King James Version Bible which scientists such as Physicist Albert Einstein, and the Evolutionist Theorist, Charles Darwin consulted secretly in their later years to find answers to burning questions and found them there.

I would like Mr. E.Leonard response returned and my comments in response to his. Please do not be found wanting by the Greatest Power because you were afraid to return both our posts. The people aught to know and judge the comments for themselves. Let the nay sayers know and later on as events unfold around us, the truth shall be revealed, and it is unfolding and fast. The UN Agenda 21 and UN Agenda 2030 which promotes sustainability development and Climate Change are cover up for the depopulation agenda and the coming of the planetary system from the south. That is the reason there are so many telescopes are at the south pole, the Vatican has a multi-million dollar telescope on Mount Graham in Arizona called LUCIFER, so many space probes were sent out by NASA and other allied countries to get a glimpse of this system, and why Super Powers are building underground cities. TPTB have read Genesis Chapter 6, Book of Enoch and Book of Jared, Revelations especially Chapter 9 and understand the science behind it. The Vatican knows the truth and have kept it hidden and the reason why Noah's Ark in the mountains of Turkey is not being allowed to be visited and unearthed as it would lend credence to the authenticity of the Bible of its historical and scientific significance to humanity.

We need to turn to old people who can look to the sky. The birds the, the animals the sea. The east west north and south and tell us more accurately if we getting storm than these expensive machines and highly paid analyst who are wrong more times than they are right..

My apologies administrator of the Blog. I found both E.Leonard comments and my own on Climate Change which I thought were removed but were under the News item by Famous that Climate Change is Real. If you wish you could still post my comments.

Yet real high wind n no warning. Jah. Something ain't right... Seems like DDM now scared to say anything. Lol. All I can do is laugh. Its crazy... We need to turn to some of these old people for better weather prediction.. These old can look to east, north, west or south n tell us more accurately than these equipment if we getting storm...
  • Kudos to Port Authority.. (22/09/2019, 08:37) Like (3) Dislike (2) Reply
Government already borrowing monies to pay salaries. Hmmm.. It can't get more irresponsible than this. The super markets, gas stations and hard ware stores rejoice. I wonder if DDM getting cut back from these entities because they are the ones that benefit big time in two days of heated sun when we should be having a storm.... I suggest that Next time follow port Authority lead, Conduct business as usual and observed When I heard that on the radio I said Port Authority doing the right thing. All this time DG done announced day off. ... Storms don't drop from the sky. We will get enough time / warning when it becomes a real threat. Tortola is a small place. It takes no more than one n a half hour no matter how busy the traffic to travel the farest point... This is Storm season everyone should already been prepared. How government expect to get their hands on RDA money doing business this irresponsibly..

We expect to experience tropical storm Karen maybe Tuesday into a Wednesday. Let me see how this one will play out. The deputy Governor made a call I am sure on advise from the weather people. So the BVI was on shut down mode on a Friday awaiting Jerry. Some Government offices were closed only essential and critical workers had to report for work. Some private offices were closed (I had to work and didn’t mind one bit); all public schools closed and daycare closed etc. so will we see a repeat of this come Tuesday for tropical storm Karen? Well they say prevention is better than cure.

We were NEVER in Jerry's path. DDM needs to learn how to track storms. Have the DG looking stupid. SMDH
