BRADENTON, Florida, USA- Sporting history has once again been created in the Virgin Islands, this time through football.

The Virgin Islands Under 15 Footballers have won the CONCACAF Division 3 Championships at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, USA.

Playing in the final on August 10, 2019, the Virgin Islands hammered Sint Maarten 7-0.

Their victory has been hailed by Premier and Minister of Finance of the Virgin Islands Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1), Minister responsible for Sports, Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), visiting FIFA President Giovanni V. Infantino and CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani.

Three of the players in the winning team also dropped in at Village Cay Marina Conference Room where a press conference on the FIFA President's visit was taking place today, August 11, 2019.

There Azarni Callwood, Gerald Fredericks and Ryan Lettsome received personal congratulations from the top FIFA officials as well as Premier Fahie and the other elected officials present.

Only on August 6, 2019 sporting history was created for the Virgin Islands in athletics when Long Jumper Chantel E. Malone struck the Virgin Islands first ever Pan Am Games gold medal at the 2019 Games in Lima, Peru.
