ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - ‎The British Overseas Territory of the Virgin Islands continues to get major promotion and recognition as one of the most 'to die for' destinations throughout the Caribbean.

This was proven to be a fact when The Baths, and Virgin Gorda were featured throughout on the August 20, 2015 episode of ‎popular television soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R).

While it cannot not be confirmed whether the actual filming of the scenes was done at The Baths and in some rooms at an un-named Villa or whether the backdrops were actually props, the actual mentioning of the names 'Virgin Gorda' and ‘The Baths’ were enough a promotion for the territory as a tourist destination suitable from the highest to the least category of vacationers.

"I didn't hear most of the show today after people called out to me at my home, I was busy calling all who I know telling them to turn on their TV. But by the time I done calling the show done,” said resident Emile Creque, an enthusiastic fan of the show, in a comment to this news site.

Virgin Gorda and The Baths have very often stolen the spotlight among other places in the Caribbean over the years.

It was Omar Hodge and the VIP who purchased the baths. This is history of a party full of visions.

Nobody home at The Tourist Board, probably on an international flight somewhere spending that huge budget.

It was rather insulting, they showed what seemed like the Baths from a Helicopter, then had the worst possible set imaginable as the hiking trail for the Baths. You can take the fake plants out of any home in the BVI and it would have looked better. Then topped off with the horrible African American actor who was supposed to portray a local as an officer who kept saying "mon" in between every 3 words he said. I have many Jamaican friends and none of them even sound like the crap Young and the Crapless did. It amazes me that African Americans actors talk about how they were discriminated in the past by white actors who felt putting on a black face would be a representation of a black person. Yet whenever their is a role for a Caribbean person, whether it be Jamaican, Trinidad, or Barbados setting they feel just saying "mon" represents that island.

True. They mentioned British Virgin Islands; Virgin Gorda; The Baths and the honeymooning characters were to hike up to "Gorda Peak." I too was disappointed that the scenes appeared to have been filmed in the CBS Studios. Even more annoying was the African-American police officer who attempted to sound "island."
Unfortunately, in the United States, if you say you are from the Caribbean they automatically think you are Jamaican. Luckily, each episode of the Young and the Restless can be seen on the internet at CBS.com

I agree with you whole heartedly on that. It seems like they used an aerial photo of The Baths/Devil's Bay. In addition the horrible set, with the fake plants and boulders, was actually supposed to be the trail up Gorda Peak. I missed seeing the actor but after seeing the set, the actor portrayal of a Virgin Islander was to be expected. Who researched this for Y&R?i if they didn't have the funds to film here they could have simply gone up a mountain in their neighborhood and that would have looked better. Thanks only for the mention of '"That's the Virgin Gorda Baths" and the name "Gorda Peak", Y&R.

Strange. Every Caribbean country is claiming the same. Anguilla saying its them, St Lucia saying its them, Barbados saying its them, St. Kitts saying its them, St Marten saying its them, all these Islands are claiming to be the tourist favorit choice. Who is it really? All these Islands have something special. BVI-the beaches, that's about it.--St. Marten-the Casinos, the beaches, the prices, the shops. Barbados--hospitality, activities, the caves. St. Kitts-- the historical sites the parades. For me as a tourist that travels all over, I will vote for Guyana as my favorit destination it has the accommodation excellent prices, excellent shopping, a wide variety of fresh fruits on every corner, the oldies party. Its Guyana for me
