VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- The Virgin Gorda International Airport is scheduled to re-open on Monday, November 25, 2019, following the completion of its annual maintenance programme and runway resurfacing.

This is according to the BVI Airports Authority which noted that maintenance will conclude on Sunday, November 24, 2019, thus paving the way for the commencement of service at 7:00 am on Monday.

Acting Managing Director, Mr Clive Smith said the programme commenced on November 18, 2019 and witnessed the entire runway strip being resurfaced with tarris to ensure a smooth and safe landing by aircraft.

He encouraged travellers to contact their respective airlines to sort out concerns with regards to flight schedules.

He noted that a variety of infrastructure work is also taking place in Anegada including the construction of a separate fire hall.

"These improvements will increase the BVI’s share in the global and regional tourism market, increase business for our tourism stakeholders, and support the position of the BVI as an ideal destination for conferences and training," he said.

Resurface is correct... if them add a new layer on a runway or any road, is a resurface when the intention is to make conditions better.

This Premier is a Man On A Mission because he is doing what others failed to do without fear. Before the term of this government is complete I am optimistic that the country will be developed much to the delight of the citizens. With this kind of vision we can be assured that with God's help we will be better off.

The other area of development that I would like to be addressed is food security. In particular I would like to see an expansion of the poultry and fishing industries to the extent that we can be self sufficient in poultry and fish products. We should have at least three deep sea trawlers hat can catch and process huge amount of fish. Particular attention should focus on the value added product from both sectors. Mr Premier I am proud of you and you have demonstrated that you are willing to take the country forward.

Finally, I would like the people to join with the government and grasp ALL the opportunities that are presenting to them.

Looking at that pick do not look like Tarris to me but everyone will not be please with anything Th his government try to do there will always be the naysayers and criticizers. Talking about resurfacing , it is satisfying to seeing the resurfacing of the beef Island road, something that was not done for years but you will not hear anything from Marlon on that.
