USVIPD investigating Frederiksted homicide

FREDERIKSTED, St. Croix, USVI – The United States Virgin Islands Police Department’s (USVIPD) Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB), is investigating a homicide that occurred near the Marley Housing Community in Frederiksted, USVIPD Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has announced.

According to a release issued Thursday, November 29, 2018, today at 5:35 am, the 911 emergency call centre received a call from a resident reporting a lifeless body in the roadway by the Marley Housing Community in Frederiksted.

Officers along with emergency medical services personnel responded to the scene and discovered an unresponsive Hispanic male with multiple gunshot wounds about his body, Mr Dratte said.

The victim was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital morgue by ambulance and was identified as 24-year-old Roland Bogan.

The case is under investigation by the CIB, Mr Dratte said, and the USVIPD is asking anyone with information on the homicide to contact the Police force.
