USVI police on hunt for man accused of raping minor
FEDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI — The [US] Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) is on the hunt for a man who allegedly raped a minor, VIPD Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced via press release Tuesday, August 9 2016.
According to the release, 46-year-old Elvis Edwards, who was charged with first degree rape, weighs about 191 lbs, is 5 feet 7 inches tall, has a tear drop tattoo underneath his left eye, along with black dreadlocks and gold teeth.
Mr Edwards, who was born in St Thomas but lives on St Croix, is known to frequent Sion Farm, Castle Coakley, Peter’s Rest and Angels Bar in the Golden Grove area, according to the release. The suspect currently has one arm in a sling.
Police are asking anyone who may know of Mr Edwards’ whereabouts to contact The Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340 778-2211; or the anonymous tip line Crime Stoppers VI at 1 800 222 TIPS (8477) or 911.
