FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI— A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged with unlawful sexual contact after a minor reported two incidents that occurred Thursday and Friday on St Croix, US Virgin Islands (USVI).

According to [US] Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) Public Information Officer Glen Dratte, the minor on Friday, November 10, 2017 told her friends in school that the man, Carlos Ayala, was sexually molesting her. The friends reported the allegation to the school nurse, who then reported the incident to 911. Soon after, VIPD officers visited the school to speak with the minor.

The minor told police that on Thursday, Mr Ayala asked her to touch his penis. When she refused, he grabbed her hand and placed it on his penis and began masturbating, according to Mr Dratte. The minor, 17, said Mr Ayala repeated the same act on Friday before she departed for school.

To protect the minor, The Consortium decided not to publish the suspect’s relation to the minor.

The suspect was arrested and charged with unlawful sexual contact, and was remanded to the Golden Grove detention facility pending his advisement hearing, according to Mr Dratte.

@ a lesson what the BVI has to do with this news. You are such a fool!! The minor speak out. Once the person speaks out its the same in the BVI. We had cases before if you read the news often. If you dont have anything positive to say. Come off VINO and leave the BVI alone.

I proud that the girl came forward. Courage under Fire from predators as this man. She spoke up and should be applauded for doing so.
