ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Parents of the now deceased, Malik J. Aaron, shared an important and timely reminder to motorcycle riders across the Territory about the necessity of observing safety rules when using the road, as hundreds turned out to celebrate the life of 21-year old.

The funeral service took place today February 1, 2014 at the Road Town Methodist Church.

In a eulogy delivered by former Rotary District Governor, Mr Vance Lewis, Malik’s parents Enos and Karen Aaron offered a message that stressed the importance of wearing a helmet in the correct manner.

“...the message to all riders is ride safely, don’t just put it on, strap it on. It could mean the difference between life and death. Please don’t let our son’s death be in vain, choose wisely, choose life.”

Dedicated and focused student

Malik was described as a once dedicated and focused student who took pains to execute his duties before he successfully graduated from the Elmore Stoutt High School in 2009. He was also crowned Festival Prince in 2002.

His exertions did not stop here however, as he was also remembered as a protective and loving brother and uncle.

He would see to it that his younger brothers, Tarik and Kalik kept up their schoolwork and was reportedly not afraid to take control and mould them into shape.

As a young boy, Malik reportedly demonstrated a passion for bikes, go carts and anything with wheels and also fixed problems that developed on his own.

“Always inquisitive, he would take to dismantling what needed dismantling and what didn’t need dismantling,” Lewis said during the eulogy, “the sheer satisfaction of making it work gave him an immense sense of accomplishment.”

Malik also developed a passion for boating and would assist his father with his many boat charters over the years.

Entrepreneur

He was also remembered as being an ambitious person who embraced his own entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2012, he assumed the lead role in the family’s businesses after their departure from the Territory when a younger brother had been injured in a motorcycle accident. Malik was keen in executing his duties then and made his parents proud.

The young entrepreneur had also taken some courses at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) where he had developed an aptitude for Business and Accounting.

He recently purchased some scooters to start his own scooter rental business and had great plans. Malik was just getting his business affairs in order but now regrettably, his full potential will not be realised.

He was interred at the Sea Cows Bay Cemetery.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The funeral service for Malik J. Aaron, 21, of Havers will be held this Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Road Town Methodist Church on Main Street.

Aaron died following a horrible motorcycle accident late on the evening of January 19, 2014 at Beef Island.

He is survived by his parents, Karen B. Aaron and Enos Z. Aaron, six siblings and numerous other relatives and friends.

Aaron’s death came as a shock to the community and followed closely on the heels of the death of another youth, 17-year-old Jovahn A. Chapman, who also died in a motorcycle accident approximately two weeks earlier.

A viewing will be held at Davis Funeral Home from 6PM to 8PM tomorrow January 31, 2014.

A second viewing and funeral service will be held at the Road Town, Methodist Church on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 9AM to 11AM followed by burial.

Officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force are still conducting investigations into the circumstances that led to Aaron’s death and have been asking for eyewitnesses to come forward.

It was discovered that the motorcycle he was allegedly riding at the time of his demise was removed from the scene of the accident.

It is so amazing that when people die the good things we have to say about them this boy was not the best of persons albeit his death was very tragic May he rest in eternal peace. Encouraging to hear that his parents are making the clarion call for other riders to practice safety when riding but when the police had occasion to caution this youngster about breaking rules at least one of them was accusing the police of harassment

Christ is in the midst of every Crisis ... He is good even when things go wrong; He cares and His love is unsearchable. To Mr. & Mrs. Karen and Enos Aaron and family, the comforter did not take Malik ... He wishes above all things that we prosper and be in good health as our soul prospers. You will not have to grieve alone, He is our burden-bearer. He is in the midst to bless ... his grace exceeds our sin. Be assured that God will not leave you nor forsake you, He sticks closer than a brother. You may wonder how you will get through this, but don't worry, God sees your tears, he feels your pain and because He is bigger than all our problems ... He will see you through to the end. His blessings on you will not cease, but continually flow ... As we pray for each other daily, let us always give Him praise and thanks for he has asked that we 'glory in tribulation'. He will reward you/us for your/our faith, without which it is impossible to please Him.

    The Last ride!
I stood and I watched as my Brother rode by
It wasn't the way it should be
He rode not his bike, but in a long black cage
And he rode by himself, not with me.
But I shed not a tear for this Brother of mine
For he lived free and loved his lifestyle
So ride on my Brother and rest in peace
Till we meet again after awhile
And when my time comes to take that last ride
You can bet it'll be with a smile
Cause I love to ride and I'll be going home
So I'll enjoy it to the very last mile
    Alone on my tin pony,
To the heavens I’ve been called
But fret not my dear loved ones
I’m not lonely here at all.

    R.I.P. Mr.Module
