PURCELL ESTATE, Tortola, VI- Our newsroom can confirm that the man gunned down on the streets of Purcell, next to the Onemart new blue building, has been identified as local resident, Jerry Casto-Felix, who is 25 years of age.

The young man, who lives next to the Delta Petroleum Service Station, was shot dead with a single bullet to the back of his head around 8:00 PM, last evening, Friday August 10, 2018.

He died immediately, according to medical sources.

Residents and family members describe the young man as quiet and friendly.

The Police investigation is ongoing.

Man shot dead in Purcell Estate

A young man was moments ago shot dead on the streets of Purcell Estate, on the main island of Tortola, Virgin Islands (VI).

The fatal shooting occurred around 8:00 PM.

Police and other emergency services are on the scene conducting investigations.

The details surrounding the shooting were up to publication time unknown but Virgin Islands News Online will provide updates as they become available.

    So why do we feel that we need to use a picture of a victim on the ground dead. If we want to run a country we have to make better decisions in our personal businesses. We are still a tourist destination and it is still our bread and butter. My prayers go out to the family.

    Very sorry hope the people around would talk and onemart cameras rolling. This was not right. To the killer a family member of yours is next sad to say do not be surprize its in the making of time. Only some people tells the future before hand and i know you will read this turn your self in before things get worst
