        Yes, there are street lights there, but it is extremely difficult to see anyone at night who is wearing dark clothing. I have been driving and not seen people until I'm mere feet away, even with the assistance of street lights and headlights. Frightening as a driver, and as a pedestrian!

    We must pray for the Hodge family. A husband and father gone and a poor devastated son who must live with this tragedy. The young man is hardworking, quiet and respectful. This is an unfortunate accident. The street light above the spot where this accident happened went out a long time ago and has not been replaced. As a matter of fact the son is very close to his father and was going to pick him up so that he did not have to walk home in the dark alone.
    Ladies and gentlemen, please pray for this young man. He has a big burden to bear now and he does not deserve it.
    May Mr. Hodge rest in peace and may John also find some peace in heart and mind.

      Well said. It is a terrible burden for this young man and I pray right now that the whole VG community rally around this man, that he understands that this is not his fault. Only God knows why. Rally around his wife and children. Remember Lord his first sons and daughter. Lord I pray for them all as this is going to be very difficult. To lose one's father in such a tragic way.... Continual prayers for all concerned.

    This is a sad situation. Many of us are concerned. If you pray for the son and believe that God answers prayers, just pray that God will take the burden of grief from John and the entire family. The God who answers prayers will do what you ask in Jesus name. Amen

    My sympathy goes out to the Hodge's family. I am so shocked about what happen. For some time I have been complaining about people planting tees too close to the power lines. These trees are obscuring the street lights and nothing is being done about that. Now that Mr. Hodge die, we will see trees starting to cut. Too late. The horse already bolted through the gate.

    @charlie Rose
    Yes some people do plant too close to the road/fence BUT My God have you notice when PWD does cut any trees road side they cut to the height of their shoulder NOT ONE OF THOSE LAZY ----ers will stand in the back if the truck and reach up : therefore safari tops and big trucks mirrors are always being damage .
    BUT ELECTRICITY got a role to play also . IT IS DAMM CARELESS TO SEE HOW MANY LINES ARE IN CONTACT WITH TREES
