UPDATE: Driver in Baughers Bay accident arrested for alleged drug possession
Reports reaching our newsroom also indicate the man, who resides at East End, Tortola, attempted to fight off police officers while an arrest on him was being executed.
The accident had occurred at Baughers Bay, in the vicinity of Water and Sewerage Department, around 4:00pm.
Both vehicles, a Dodge Ram truck- driven by the man arrested- and a Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV, were badly damaged.
Driver allegedly refused to allow search on him
According to police sources, as the man was being questioned he agreed to a breathalyser test.
Ranks also decided to conduct a search of his person but the man refused to let police search him.
He was; however, subdued, handcuffed and taken into custody. A search of his person reportedly found a quantity of marijuana and a weed grinder.
Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle, a female of East End, was attended to on the scene by medical personnel and taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital with complaints of pains about her body, especially her neck.

Left or right hand drive. Because these right hand drive don’t hold Their side.. Facts...They stay most too the on coming car.The down island people buy these right hand drive cars,it’s cheaper but we use left hand drive for years knowing myself,BvI change with left hand drive. They don’t hold they side. Down island left, BvI right. Get u’ll Right mind ...
Look at the taxi buses, the left hand drive buses open their doors to the right, we drive on the left which means passengers will have to get in and come out onto oncoming traffic. I know you have seen it many times on the beginning of the highway by the roundabout. The right hand drive buses open doors to the left and let passengers onto the side walk which is the proper way. Us using left hand drive vehicles in the BVI was wrong to begin with. In the UK they drive on the Left like us and use right have drive vehicles. Any country drives on the left uses right hand drive and vise versa.
