PROSPECT REEF, Tortola, VI – Carlos Gumbs of Cane Garden Bay, Tortola pleaded guilty before the Magistrate’s Court this morning March 3, 2016 to the charge of keeping a firearm without a licence and was remanded.

Following a body search of Gumbs and the scooter he was riding while in the yard of the Magistrate’s Court at Prospect Reef on Tuesday March 1, 2016, officers recovered a 45 caliber handgun and magazine in the seat of the scooter.

He was remanded until his sentencing on April 15, 2016.

Police arrest man with firearm near court

Police today Tuesday March 1, 2016, searched a man in the yard of the Magistrate’s Court at Prospect Reef along with his scooter and recovered a hand gun.

Police in a press release said that the man is now in Police custody awaiting charges.

The release said that investigations into this matter are ongoing.

    No telling what that guy was planning. All I can say is his Elevator don't go to the top floor. Anyone knows, you don't take a gun anywhere near a court house unless you are an officer of the law or a court officer. Hope he was not planning to harm someone.

    Incredulous that they don't lock up this psychopath and throw away the key. He is crazy and it's surprising that he hasn't used a gun on anyone yet. How many in Cane Garden Bay have been threatened by Carlos over the years? Why did he have a gun with him in a heavily policed area? Because he is psychotic and believes he is above the law.Everyone knows it including his family.
