UPDATE: Burglars entered Delta Service Station on VG via back door

VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) can now confirm that the Delta Petroleum (Caribbean) Limited Service Station on Virgin Gorda was burglarised and not robbed.

While police are yet to respond to our queries on the incident, a senior personal of Delta Petroleum informed our newsroom that the burglars gained entry to the cashier section of the service station via a backdoor.

The source also said cash was stolen but did not disclose the amount.

"No employee was there at the time," the source added.

The crime reportedly took place sometime around 3:00am on Thursday, October 3, 2019.

This latest burglary has again underscored the necessity for banking services on Virgin Gorda.

Delta Gas Station on VG robbed!

Word just reaching our news desk from our Team of Reporters around the Virgin Islands is that the Delta Petroleum (Caribbean) Limited Gas Station on Virgin Gorda was robbed sometime around 3:00am this morning, October 3, 2019.

According to reports, cash was taken during the heist.

It is unclear how many persons carried out the robbery or whether anyone was hurt.

Police did not respond to our queries on the incident up to time of publication.

Our newsroom is working on more details to this story and will provide an update when they become available.

    This is getting serious no one care about the welfare and businesses in VG. Tell them don't come rob me I shooting and the police better don't come ask me nothing. the banks don't care and surly the Government don't care either. We on VG have to spend money to come over to put our money in the bank sometimes you don't have the time to waist to come over to the bank as that an all day. look at what it happening. its not fair to the businesses on VG

    GOVERNMENT SAID OCTOBER LETS WAIT AND SEE BUT TRUTH BE TOLD VG NEEDS MORE ATTENTION. BUSINESSES AND ITS PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING FOR THE LACK OF A BANK. THIS IS GETTING OUT OF HAND. TIME THAT GOVERNMENT DO SOMETHING FOR THE PEOPLE. USE YOUR OWN BANK NBVI COME WHAT MAY DO SOMETHING FOR THEM.
