UPDATE: 9 months jail for Vincy who battered woman with rock
Butler, who was placed on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison following his first appearance before the court on September 19, 2019 for the charges of Criminal Damage and Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm, said, “Me no sorry for nothing because nobody nuh sorry for me.”
The 43-year-old mason, who recently moved to the territory to work, had reportedly met the woman from his home country through a friend and then paid for her to visit the VI.
Sentence
Butler was given seven months for Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm and another four months for the charge of Criminal Damage.
The magistrate; however, said Butler’s sentences are to be served at the same time, and he would spend no more than seven months at HMP.
Magistrate DaBreo said some of the mitigating factors she considered were his early admission of the offence to the court and his no previous convictions.
She also considered his no remorse and the seriousness of the offence as aggravating factors.
The court also made an order for Butler to reimburse his lover $205.99 for damaging her cellphone, or he would spend another month at HMP.
He was also ordered to pay the young lady’s hospital bill for $1,494.87, or he would spend another two months in prison.

‘Me no sorry for nothing'- Vincy who battered woman with rock
Appearing at the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, September 19, 2019, Vincentian Randy Butler was unapologetic for using a rock to batter a woman and destroying her cellphone last Friday, September 13, 2019 at a party.
Butler, who was placed on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison, is facing years behind bars for the offences of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
“Me no sorry for nothing, because nobody nuh sorry for me,” he told Magistrate Ayanna O. Baptiste-DaBreo after pleading guilty to the offences on Thursday.
The 43-year-old mason, who recently moved to the territory to work, reportedly met a woman from his home country through a friend.
Less than three weeks later, after communicating via telephone and social media, he bought her a ticket to visit the territory.
About four nights after her arrival last month, the two had a misunderstanding and parted ways.
‘I want my money back’
The incident took place when the defendant met the young lady in question at a party in Old Plantation and, despite his attempts to speak to her, she pushed him away.
He reportedly told her, “I want my money for the ticket that I bought you,” and allegedly threatened to kill her.
It was that time that he reportedly hurled her phone to a nearby wall, where it broke in several pieces.
The altercation between the two moved outside where he flung a rock towards her, hitting her squarely on her head.
The woman, who was reportedly bleeding profusely, was taken to hospital for medical attention and was later discharged after racking up a bill of over $1,494.
Butler, who does not have any legal representative, will be sentenced on Monday September 23, 2019.

He got to be an @$$% who does that
If she have a man, then why did she accept the benefit of an airline ticket purchased by another man? He should not have assaulted her, but she played him. These women need to stop using men who they know they don't want
Why the VI allows itself to be entertaining this violent behaviour including murder repeatedly is not at all good governance nor is it genuine concern for its people and the country.
I recall a couple years ago,,at least 7,the issue was Jamaicans and crime. Visa increase for them was implemented. Might be coincidence but it has been many years since and the i
Issue of Jamaicans and crime in the VI, has become a non issue.
A moratorium on Vincetians entering could be a solution but having them here is a problem that can be easily solved.

It was easy to impose visa restrictions on Jamaicans because they need a visa to enter the UK.
Do you think it's that simple to impose Visa restrictions on Vincentians?
There are other ppl that are contributing to the crime issues in the BVI to.
If it wasn't for the help from the same Vincentians and their government, where would we in the BVI be today?
Do you remember Hurricane IRMA?
And btw St. Vincent has one of the most influential and powerful prime ministers in the region and arguably the world.
In the meantime those of us who can face the reality of the demonic spirit alive and well, including other Vinentians, will rally for protection and prevention from this diabolical evil.
In this category, they surpass any and all animals and " better" yessiree.
Hope you are not raising one of these" better" male species.
I am not condemning this guys actions but l find to many times two particular ladies are very bias when it comes to these types of cases. High bail and siding with the victims even when the defendants are innocent all these ladies want to hear is domestic violence and you already gulity with high bail. In this case here all three are Vincy.

This incident is one of many that has hit the courts and reported in the media where ladies are assaulted after getting gifts or a loan and not being receptive to the romantic demands of the giver of the gift or loan.
Was the ticket a gift or a loan to pay back at some point in time?
Ladies, please be very clear about what you agree to when entering such agreements. You may not get out of it alive when you do not fulfill his perceived thinking about what he should get in return.
NOTHING in this Life is for free.
My mom told me that over and over when I was very young and believe you me I got it then and I still got what she meant now!!!
In some cases and to give the benefit of the doubt for the young man who lost his temper. He may have been led to believe that the ticket was in exchange for a romantic relationship. Unfortunately, no mention was made of such or her intention to pay him back in the information released to the public.
I DO NOT CONDONE VIOLENCE AT ALL. He should have walked away!
Warning to the wise!
Warning to be wise!
That g******g s****k got what was coming to her. And why in god name is this ugly dude thinking that a younger probably beautiful woman would be interested in him. This island is loaded with some dirty goldingging whores who open their legs for any man that willing to pay. Ladies get your s**t together u guys are disgusting. And yea vincy men are animals and the women are homewreckers. And they aint even all that atleast a santo woman will give u a good time.
The African tribe from which some of the slaves in St. Vincent may have come from may have been aggressive, hardworking and proud and would not accept defeat. When things get tough it seems violence and gramazone seems to be the remedy.
Then St. Vincent got a tough blow when the banana industry fell in the 1970s and the large food companies such as DOLE in the USA start to use South American farmers at even lower wages, GMO in the crops for larger sized fruit and larger volume.
Then USA and Europe or largely UK reduced the subsidies to Caribbean farmers not just to St. Vincent but to other former colonies.
That move caused a shift in industries from agriculture to manufacturing and tourism. It also caused migration to other Caribbean countries and to the North America including to the BVI in the 1970s. Admittedly, the influx of persons from the CARICOM and OECS countries have assisted the growth and development of Tourism in the BVI and the economy on the whole.
It is obvious that the frequency of barbaric violence against women by St. Vincentian males when rejected showing up in BVI courts more than any other male group is a phenomenon and needs to be investigated and studied from a psychological point of view instead of a subject in the Blogs for hate bashing.
The Government of St. Vincent, OECS and CARICOM need to study this anomaly and then find ways to re-educate its males through churches, school system and NPOs on how to handle rejection. I believe the trend has gotten to epidemic proportions as it casts a negative perception that the Black Male and now St. Vincentian Black Male are barbarians because of a few.
Those women who baited St. Vincentian males for their hard earned money, please stop. Those women who genuinely behaved properly, please tread carefully. Search the BVI local online news sites for the last 5 years and the evidence is there for the barbaric violence. There is a problem and I believe it stemmed from slavery days and the men cannot help it. It is something spiritual it seems.
I am not bashing the males from this country, but stating the obvious. I use to purchase the paper from that country about 10 years ago and after a few months I could not read them anymore. Too much violence. Very sad. It would break anyone's heart if that person care about humanity. Hope the Government of St. Vincent get that study on the way and institute solutions.
The thing I noticed when visiting St Vincent were the songs on the radio telling fathers don't sex your daughters. That's messed up.
9 months in Prison. . He didn't deserve all that... Every Dog Has its day.. We all get old and we all have kids. We never know. Be fair to people...
