UPDATE: 3 shot, 2 dead in execution style murder
According to our Team of Reporters, the gunmen were on two scooters and fired several shots indiscriminately into the vehicle.
Our newsroom can confirm that two persons, the adult male and the 11 year old girl, have died. We have names and photos of all victims; however, will hold on publishing until a later news cycle.
The adult female remains at the state-owned Peebles Hospital in Road Town and her condition is critical, according to hospital sources.
The male and 11-year-old minor were pronounced dead on arrival. The female continues to receive treatment at the hospital for her injuries.
According to a press release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) today, November 23, 2017, the minor was a back seat passenger in a vehicle containing two other persons, a male driver and an adult female.
"Reports indicated that the vehicle was on the West End Public Road in the area of the graveyard around 9:30 P.M. when at least two scooter riders rode up to the vehicle. Shots were then fired into the vehicle and then the scooter riders fled."
CoP appeals to public for help
Speaking exclusively to our newsroom moments ago, Police Commissioner Michael B. Mathews, who still remains popular in the Territory, said: "I am sickened and horrified that an assassination style killing has taken place in our community."
The top cop also stated: "the perpetrators of such crime are sick individuals and I appeal to all of our communities- including those who are of a criminal nature- to have a conscience and to come forward and assist the police with information that will bring these evil killers to justice."
There have been some 10 homicides for the year in the tiny overseas territory of the Virgin Islands, the majority of which have been as a result of shootings.
The number of homicides is the highest ever recorded in the Virgin Islands and also speaks of the urgency to take drastic action against gun crime.

Another shooting incident in the VI
Our newsroom can confirm that upwards of two people were shot on the western end of Tortola tonight, November 22, 2017.
Details are still emerging as to who was shot and how many people were shot; however, it is being reported that a child is one of the shooting victims.
Peebles Hospital is on lockdown with heavy police presence following the incident.
Virgin Islands News Online is currently working our sources around the territory and will bring more details as they emerge.
This is the third shooting for this month.
On November 4, 2017 a man was shot in the leg while in the vicinity of a bar in Huntums Ghut and on November 20, 2017, Elmore Stoutt High School teacher Paul S. Meyers was shot in both of his legs while at his residence in Huntums Ghut, also on the main island of Tortola.

Hoping these criminals are caught quickly. Whoever they live with know it was them. Do the right thing and turn them in.
That should say a lot
Then why should you take a brother's Life?
God forbid!
For a family oriented society we need to come together as a people help each other along the was build up each other this is so sad. I am 38yrs my eldest child is 16 my youngest is 5 It is so sad they wouldn't see the BVI I grow up in were it took a village to raise a child.
Why has crime excelate to this level don't get me wrong crime was always around but not yo this level what are we saying to our children do we now bring them up in fear of the world when the only they should fear is God almighty. To the family I hope all will be well with those persons involved in shooting may God cover them under his precious blood Lord continue to build a hedge of protection around us and our families
I am beginning to think this thing is an political agenda try to discredit the government even more but maybe the soldiers need to come back and curfew go back 6am-6pm anyone caught outside the curfew hours must provide a valid reason for being out those person should undergo full search of the vehicle and body search its time for hammer to drop.
YOU'lLL SEE HOW FAST THEM LITTLE PUNKS STOP THE KILLING.
HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE??
COME ON GOVERNMENT!!!!
I’m honestly tired of the government saying they’re upset of these violent behaviors when they can implement certain laws to prevent these acts. The curfew was changing so quickly because they felt they don’t need it. Now these acts are occurring just before. Do we still not need it? In my opinion we do and found that it really did help in the beginning. It’s like they get bored after certain hours and feel like just shooting random families.
Change the demographic of the BVI in a relatively short time is easy, especially post Irmaria. Seize this opportunity afforded by The Universe for r the much needed catharsis and the BVI will be gloriously survive and thrive:
I say so cause it is so.
In the meantime, make a note of the description of the assailants.
