Why can't the news reporters get a detailed story from the police on any thing, EVER?

Wondering is all we can do reading stories like this. Who, where exactly did it happen, what happened?

Why a perpetual BLACKOUT from the police?

May God bless this family with peace and heal this precious toddler.

How? Accidents happen, but we need to be more vigilant of our surroundings especially when we have small children

Maybe NOW the government will take more care in procedures they use to assess daycares and the safety of children. There is no fence or gate?! There is no place in the front of the yard to ensure safe drop off and pick up. The facility has no procedures in place for parents to follow when picking up and dropping off kids. With a hill that steep, parents should be made to park below and walk up for their kids. The kids should also be given rules to follow when they see mommy and daddy drive up. Like not running out to the car and things like that. I hope i NEVER know what that poor woman is experiencing today! may she find the strength the good LORD has given all of us women to do what we often must, but don't want to do.

There are two gates of "defense" that the children cannot get pass to and from the daycare. The children cannot get pass unless those gates are opened by an adult and they are handed off to their parents. There are rules and regulations and very thorough safety measures. This was a horrific accident that could have happened to any parent unfortunately.

Take a mental look at many child care centers around the island. Way too many of them (though they exist for donkey years) have no safe zones for dropping off and picking up. It has to be done on he side of the road during busy hours. If issues like this are raised we get enemies because others get offended.

I don't know this particular facility and I've never been there. Additional I don't know the details of this sad accident. I therefore am not referring to it but I am lamenting on what seem to be customary.

We will grieve and then we will forget by next week and love on with business as usual, shikr

Very sorry about this accident. I don't think you can point fingers solely at day cares. Many public primary schools do not have proper parking or safe drop off pick up zone. There is not even a 'school zone' speed limit. The parents dropping off or picking up are conscious and courteous because they are aware that children are present but most of the general public speed by, won't let school traffic pass and seem to have a general disregard for the school area. I would like to see school zones with reduced speed limits during specified times 8-9 am 12-1 and 3-4 pm when children are present and I would like to see them enforced. The government schools should make changes and set the standard. Speed bumps alone are not enough.

My condolence to the family no word can explain but the government need to pay attention to these dam school zones. Montessori is the damn worst people can't get pass and everybody walking in the road. So damn hazardous line off the dam road. Who could ever build a school with no parking.

I pressed the wrong button before I was finished.

Yes we go right back to business as usuall and pray that something like this never happens again.

Another issue which I myself was guilty of is being in a hurry when dropping of our kids when we're late for work or have other kids to drop off to school before we get to work. How can we work on this?

Never ever allow your child or anyone getting in or out of your vehicle to walk in front of it, especially if it's on a slope.

Young children move faster than our eyes. Tie them to you even if it's for their own safety. I use to do that when I had an active child. While my friends thought it was cruelike for me to do, I have no doubt that it saved his life many times.

You the parents, especially the mom. I am so so sorry for your loss and your pain.

To the mother, please don't blame yourself for that child's death even if I don't know the details I know you didn't intend to hurt your little one. Ask Jah for guidance and strength in this extremely difficult time. Regret and guilt are terrible things to deal with and if you let them get you down you may not live to recover. Family and friends please comfort this woman I beg for your support. My heart hurts for you tonight just wondering how you may feel. I didn't know you personally, and can't reach out to you directly to give you a hug and hold you tight. Your grief will be undeniably hard and intense for a long time and there is absolutely nothing that will heal this sudden hole in your heart and soul.

Take comfort in your son that is there, in your husband, in your closest family and friends that will be there to hold you and take comfort in the Lord who is now cuddling and holding on tight to "your baby girl."

I grieve and cry for you too and the lost of a sweet angel.

I am so sorry for your lost.
