ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The two motor scooter riders involved in an accident on Thursday March 24, 2016 have reportedly suffered fractured skulls but are said to be in stable condition at Peebles Hospital.

According to a source close to the situation, the men also suffered lacerations to the face.

The two motor scooters collided head on around 8pm in the vicinity of the Sunday Morning Well in Road Town, Tortola.

When this news site had arrived on the scene there was a large crowd of persons gathered and there were EMT personnel on the scene attending to one of the riders, who was bleeding profusely. The other rider was already removed from the road.

Unconfirmed reports state that the riders, identified as Rasheed Noel and Mikael Howe, were allegedly playing “chicken” when the accident occurred.

It is not exactly clear whether the persons involved in the accident were wearing helmets.

At least one seriously injured in accident @ Sunday Morning Well

At least one person has been seriously injured following an accident involving two motor scooters just after 8pm tonight, March 24, 2016 in front of the Sunday Morning Well in Road Town.

According to reports, the two motor scooters collided head on.

When this news site arrived on the scene there was a large crowd of persons gathered and there were EMT personnel on the scene attending to one of the riders, who was bleeding profusely. The other rider was already removed from the road.

Dr Vincent G. Scatliffe, the former Fourth District Representative was also on the scene and attended to the injured man still on the road before he was rushed to Peebles Hospital.

It is not exactly clear how the accident occured and whether the persons involved were wearing helmets.

Police have since cordoned off the area and traffic is being diverted.

According to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton, "Police responded to a collision near the Sunday Morning Well this evening involving two motor scooters. Both riders were taken to hospital with injuries."

    Young men and women we know riding is exciting and you love that special feeling of getting where you want to go quickly but dose it profit you to keep doing it at the risk of serious injuries or lost of life when you also have the choice to slow down and obey the traffic rules and still enjoy biking

    This is what happened when people in power make bad decisions. They fire the only real cop on the streets.. When a moped man leave his house he make sure he has his helmet, when drivers coming to town they make sure they are buckled up their hand devices are in order their Vehicles are license and insured why Robo Cop is on their minds.     How could they be playing chicken when either one knows each other .one of the guys just makde their turn too sudden and end up crashing into the other .its an accident .you guys like to rejoice when something happens to people children but when it is yours you need a helping hand .sad set of people .hope you guys who post these cold comments don't have kids niece nephew or cousins of grand children .speed recovery guys.

    Why bring the law in now is it not you same BVI people who made two police lost them job trying to arrest some these same scooter guys? And is it not some the same boys parents who know it wrong for children to be riding them but yet go and buy them for them, and is it not you same BVI people who hide these bikes when them are in accidents from the law so why cry out now to the law

    The boys who driving this motorbikes need to take them time and drive where they full speed going I don't no........They up and down speeding between cars...and the worst thing about it they don't have any helmet on or if it aint that they don't have any plate on them bikes the stupidness the man....They need to stop making them drive these motorbikes if they don't have any control of them...
