VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- A boat load of fans, family and players came from Tortola to Virgin Gorda last night December 17, 2016 to witness for themselves what was dubbed ‘the Clash of the Titans’ at the Jeffrey Caines Arena in Valley, Virgin Gorda.

The big game was between the 2016 Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed National Basketball League Championship team Splash Brothers and the Virgin Gorda Summer Jam Championship Team, Up 2 Da Time, with the latter prevailing 96-80 in front a large crowd.

Killven ruled over Steve

It was also experience, skills and youth on display last night but veteran basketball player Steve E. Parillon, the Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed MVP, was no match against the Summer Jam MVP Killven M. Samuel.

It seemed like after winning the 2016 Championship at the Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed League where rings were at stake, Splash Brothers’ players retired for they did not play any type of serious Basketball in Virgin Gorda last night, much to the disappointment of the many Tortola fans.

They proved no match for the high flying Up 2 Da Time, with the fired up Killven M. Samuel popping three pointers in the face of the veteran Steve E. Parillon in every quarter. Up 2 Da Time's battle ready team also saw young player Kimron A. Telemaque sinking three pointers in the face of Splash Brothers in an energetic performance.

Up 2 Da Time led in every quarter, except for a short time when in the beginning of the third quarter Splash Brothers took the lead by a few points.

It seemed like Splash Brothers could not take the pressure and had no one to properly guard Samuel; however, both Aubrey S. Daniels and Shamoii A. Dagou tried their best to hold their own but it was not to be.

It’s Up 2 Da Time the big winner

By the third quarter Splash Brothers broke down, with their player/coach Parillon walking off the court and removing his uniform.

Up 2 Da Time ended the game at around 12 midnight with a near blow out and a final score of 96 over Splash Brothers’ 80. They walked away with $1000.00 in cash.

Meanwhile, in the other game the Virgin Gorda B Division Championship team, Time 2 Wuk, defeated the Tortola under 19 All Stars Team. The games were organised and sponsored by the Virgin Gorda Basketball Association.

Fraser league is for the can't play crowd so this wasn't a surprise at all. Intermediate champ vs a senior champ sense alone says VG wins

Save the Seed is a B Division League at best. This was certainly a mismatch. Plus it was a ready team playing against a team who had not played in months. This may have sounded good on paper, but....

That dude Killven is mad talented. Played against him when he was a teenager and he couldn't be stopped back then either....

As i always say, vg got the best players but they are not organize, now basketball ends till next summer jam, no consistent training of the youths, why cant Bregado Flax travel to Stt for the high school competitions like Elmo Stoutt does, West u all need to step up like Jason Edwin and Kennedy Bass does in Tola for the youths, that beautiful court in the Valley needs to be utilize year round guys!
