ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Four years after his death, detectives from the Major Crime Investigations Team at the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) are still seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the perpetrator/s responsible for the murder of 28-year-old David N. James aka ‘Bushman’.

The then youth was gunned down at his Free Bottom residence around 9:30 pm on December 7, 2015, in what would have been the 2nd homicide for that year.

According to RVIPF information, on December 7, 2015, the victim was at his residence when an unknown person, possibly known to the victim, shot him and fled the scene.

“Witnesses revealed that an unknown male was seen fleeing the scene shortly after the shots were heard. The victim was found by family members and rushed to the Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. This month marks the fourth year anniversary of the incident,” the Force said in a December 20, 2019, release.

Detectives still hopeful

The RVIPF noted that detectives remain hopeful that members of the community may have crucial information to assist in identifying those responsible for the 'senseless shooting' and to bring some closure to the grieving families.

They are asking that anyone with information relating to these crimes, to contact Detective Inspector Vernon Larocque; directly via 368-9809 or the Major Crime Investigation Team on 368-5682.

Back in 2015, the police executed two search warrants and arrested two men and one woman for questioning in relation to the murder of James.

During the course of the searches, officers recovered a firearm, ammunition and a small quantity of drugs.

In this life, a person does reap what they sow. One cannot sow evil and reap good. Sow evil reap evil. Sow good reap good.

His killer or someone connected is right up on the hill. Then another source said the killer some how manage to slip out of the prison and kill bush on the order of........ Some also say his killing was a contract hit. That is why if you involve in any type of drama you have to go ghost. This place is not like the States where you can get in your car and drive to another State .

I was hearing the same thing. That the killer is up in the prison. He slip out through the fence did the dew and then slip back in the prison. That is what the prison get for having a house yard fence . They need to build a 6foot wall fence around the prison.People be saying they see certain people that is in jail at certain places during the night. How is that possible when the certain people is locked up?
