Umoja show caller commends Government, says more in store for VI

The caller claims that she was given a job after being unemployed for eight years and commended the new Government.
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - On the popular local radio talk show Umoja, a female caller commended the newly elected Government officials and assures the public that more is in store for the Virgin Islands.

The caller, in speaking to the host Cromwell Smith and the listening radio world, on Thursday April 19, 2012, said that the National Democratic Party (NDP), has a strong bond and a vision for Tortola.

"It’s going to take some time but every place is going to get touched right now and I want to congratulate them," said the caller.

She claimed that for eight years she has been unemployed but thanks to the NDP, she is now working.

"It wasn't an easy road, not a road of gold, but I do appreciate what they did for me."
"All this time the people of VIP was there, there just handing out bucket of lies," the caller asserted on the show that airs every Thursday from 8:30 p.m.

She re-assures the listening public of Anegada, that the island is a very nice place and "whatever will be done, will be done".
"Progress is happening in the BVI and I really love how it is flowing," said the caller.

The NDP Government defeated the Virgin Islands Party at the November 2011 General Elections in a 9-4 victory.

I noticed the caller emphasized a vision for Tortola . Is that the VI now? I trust that her perception is not the total perception of the current administration

For 8 years you were without work? OK! The VIP had 4 out of the 8 years and the NDP had the other 4. So what yuh really trying to say? Are you saying that both administrations previously ignored you and then all of a sudden NDP remembered you? I hope that whatever position they provided you with you do your JOB and don't victimize the supposed or perceived VIP supporters based on your presumption/assumption of which party they supported.

Shes telling the truth from her perspective. The ndp isnt doing anything the vip hasnt done. Theres be one economic plan around here for over fourty years, look out for friends and family and to hell with everyone else. The ndp circle just smaller so more people feeling the pain. The man on the street cant tell the difference. Six of one half ah dozen of the next.
