A lot of tourists, who are used to swimming pools, don't know how strong the undercurrent of the sea is and find themselves fighting to stay afloat. This might put an immediate strain on the heart which can cause a heart attack and may be fatal to the poor visitors. Also it seems to happen to seniors. This seems to have happened a few times, sadly.

My sincere sympathy to Mrs. Pass. I know if French, German or Italians pass away they receive councelling from their Countries Consuls, residing in the BVI. Since the US Warden Sarah Somers left some years ago, -- who is here to help the American Citizens? A widow that devastated needs a lot of help. Hope we can provide it for her.

There is an on call team that have been trained in dealing with sudden bereavements and tragedies. I think this is through the tourist board, a friend of mine does it. It is for all nationalities when a tragedy strikes.

Who said it was a beach? The story said he jumped off their yacht to swim and didn't resurface. YOu want life guards attached to each charter boat as well? schups.

Condolences to the family, such a terrible thing to happen while on vacation.
Maybe the government should ban swimming over 65 or just ban swimming all together since its so dangerous, like like riding a motorcycle. sarcasm/

Orien was one of my wife's relatives. He was 76 and apparently in good health. We appreciate the sentiments - condolences.

As we are all getting older and headed towards our ultimate demise, it is a good time to be reminded to make the most of every day. Don't shrink back from an activity! To borrow a line from the movie the Bucket List - "Have you had joy in your life?" and "Did you bring joy to others during your life?". God created us so!
