DUFFS BOTTOM, Tortola, VI – Several big and standings deciding games take place this weekend in the Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed Basketball League at the Energy Centre in Duffs Bottom, Tortola.

With the league on the cusp of a little break from this coming Sunday October 2 until Sunday October 9, 2016 little or no changes are expected at the top of the standings, in either Division, however, there are some interesting matchups, especially in the Eastern Division, which could at least see some positional changes ahead of the post season.

Tonight, Friday September 30, 2016 the top two teams, Next and Winning Mentality are playing each other and that game there is after a must win encounter for the Splash Brothers as they take on We Dem Boyz.

Next have played five and won five to top the division, Winning Mentality are in second with a 3-2 record, We Dem Boyz sit third with a 3-3 and Splash Brothers are fourth at 2 and 4.

Battle is on in Western Division

In the West, Bayside Blazers are a win behind Momentum, but face the fast disappearing Avengers in the late game Friday.

The Gunners could make it a 3way tie at the top if they overcome Winning Mentality on Saturday night, October 1, 2016.

Pure Playaz and Community One start the action on Saturday in a game that may well be the youngsters from East End’s last chance to get in the win column.

Red Zone then face the Warrias before Starz take on Next at 10:30 P.M., yes 10:30 P.M.

On Sunday, the New Life Baptist Church Power Plus begins and runs until Friday, then on Saturday, October 8, 2016 there will be no games as Digicel and the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, will be hosting an Inspirational Night for athletes in the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall as part of the NBA Jump Start Elite Camp.
