ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The Tortola Toastmasters Club will host a Dinner and Auction on February 14, 2015, at Maria’s By The Sea Ballroom at 6.30pm and expected to address couples gathered for Valentine’s night are guest speakers Pastor Wayne Hoyte and his wife Joycelyn Hoyte.

The Dinner and Auction promises to be a gala affair with live music provided by Jeremy Vanterpool serenading the couples with smooth saxophone sounds accompanied by two vocalists.

The guest speakers will be presenting as a couple on the salient topic “Love and Communication”.

“This elegant event is the annual and only fundraiser for the Club. As a non-profit organisation, this fundraiser helps maintain affordable dues allowing all sectors of the community the opportunity for participation and assists with the funding and facilitation of various community and educational projects undertaken by the club,” said a press release from the Toastmasters Club of Tortola.

Vice President of Education for the Toastmasters’ Club of Tortola, Yvonne L. Thomas told this news site that the pair of guest speakers will be marrying communication and relationships between people not necessarily relationships between husband and wife.

“We as human beings have problems with communication…one person saying something and the other person understanding something else,” she said, adding that the Toastmasters’ Club is about communication and leadership.

The tickets are $55.00 and available from any member of the Tortola Toastmasters Club. “Members of the Executive Committee: President, Kisha Frett, Vice President of Education, Yvonne L. Thomas, Vice President of Membership, Patricia Blaize Adams, President of Public Relations, Portia Stout, Treasurer Lorna Fahie, and Sergeant at Arms, Letetia Penn-Rodgers will be recognized, along with new members,” the release said.

“Toastmasters International motto is ‘Where Leaders are made’. Many members have shown remarkable improvement in their communication and logic in this supportive learning environment. Active participation has strengthened their analytical skills, presentation prowess and listening and leadership finesse. Various Toastmasters share their knowledge in the community when called upon. These have included delivering presentations and coaching athletes, pageant contestants and debaters from the primary and secondary schools,” said the release.
