Time for public conversation on mandatory vaccination – Skelton-Cline
The local clergyman was at the time speaking on the Tuesday, February 23, 2021, edition of the Honestly-Speaking radio show on ZBVI 780 AM.
"How are you going to be in the hospital's sensitive area, in pharmacies, doctors private offices working, whether you are a receptionist or the nurse or the doctor, and not be vaccinated? Do you not trust the very science in which you practice?”
State of education
Pointing to the education system, Skelton-Cline related that both children and education have been in a state of ‘fright’ since the hurricanes of 2017, now compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic and teachers ought to be prepared for the frontline.
He said the country will be in peril should there be a re-opening without herd immunity to the vaccine, especially in frontline workers.
“It is time for a public conversation around the subject of mandatory vaccination for frontline workers, including teachers, and if it is the case that your personal conviction is to not be vaccinated then what do we have in place that allows you to step back from the frontline?” Skelton-Cline questioned.
To make mandator or not?
He related that persons on the frontline who are unwilling to get vaccinated should be relegated in favour of persons who are willing to get vaccinated and service VI’s tourism product and education.
“I'm asking the question, are we at a stage where we should make this vaccination mandatory if you intend to work in these posts , in these offices, on the frontline?”
The commentator, who has always advocated for vaccination against COVID-19, argued that the hard work of keeping the Territory safe should not be made futile.
“I think that it's time to have an honest conversation about the state of affair of this country as it relates to vaccinations because right now all the hard work that we have done, all the sacrifices that have been made, we are now putting ourselves in peril.”

2. This vaccine was created in less than a year. Even people here (USA) are refusing it, those who has to take it mandatory can sue their employer if they get fired. We all had to take vaccines as children, but they were tried and tested thoroughly for years prior.Plus the head Dr. for the govt in DC said that's its not going anywhere. Yes, you can choose, but if you do not want to take the Covid 19 vaccine, there will be restrictions for you in the future, since the decision of not taking it, endangers other lives.

There are those who have NEVER been vaccinated because they know better. A local nurse advised that many are unaware that they can opt out of vaccines but went with what is expected over decades.

Why object to any other source of information and call them conspiracy? Isn't it in your best interest to get a second opinion from a doctor when diagnosed with something that's life threatening to your health?.
How can anyone discredit any other professional with certificates and noble prize awards coming forward to tell their side of the story. The ones that work for these companies are selling you their science and product of coarse there will be biased and not fully transparent to suck you in. I've been reading alot thank God I can read for myself and understand rather than listening to some of the international media outlets. Persons lives can be at risk rushing into this. History shows this, I do understand people are FEARFUL and the choice is yours but don't bully others into this.
Some of you probably working with someone with HIV are you sending them home for that? This will be discrimination. If I choose not to be vaccinated then let me wear my mask allday and get tested every now and again. Technology has improved so far that anyone can almost self diagnose with a device and stay indoors if they're sick rather than poking all of the population with this experimental thing. Everyone doesn't have to follow the same beat, we all should respect one another.
