Tichina Penn is Miss Jr. BVI
Miss Penn was judged to have been very outstanding to the point of claiming the prizes for the Miss Intelligence, Best Black and White Wear, Best Talent, Best Evening Wear, Miss Congeniality, Miss Poise and Best Swimwear.
The other two special prizes of Miss Photogenic and Miss Popularity went to contestant #2 Miss Ronique McMillian who was also judged 2nd Runner up. First Runner up position went to contestant #4 Sylvanna Charles.
Those who did not place in any way in the competition were contestant #3 Shona Rogers and #5 Sheverne George.
The ladies contested in six main segments: Introduction, Self-designed Swimwear, Black and White Affair, Talent, Evening Wear and Intelligence, and they showed a high level of class, bravery, talent and courage.
The staging of the pageant last night gave the 2012 Miss East End/Long Look the opportunity to bring her reign to an end since there was not such a pageant this year. The first ever Miss Jr BVI pageant replaced the Miss East End/Long Look pageant.
The queen will receive $2k and other prizes. The First runner up will get $1k plus other prizes and third place person will receive $500 and other gifts. All the participants will be enjoying a number of treats and gifts.
Tough Crowd
Last night’s crowd was one that can be described as very selfish and not very encouraging to those who they were not rooting for. That was especially in the case of contestant #3 Miss Shona Rogers.
This was something that could not have gone un-noticed and was very painful to some who knew what great courage it takes to get up on the stage and represent the way those girls did last night.
Miss Rogers, according to one person in the crowd, deserves a special prize for her great courage. “She had almost no crowd support, not because she was doing a bad job, she did very well but the other girls had their rooters there and it was a sad case that she had just a handful of persons to cheer her on and their voices were drowned out in the auditorium,” said the observer.
Miss Rogers crackled just a bit in her introduction as a consequence of being affected by the hecklers. She did a talent piece that carried a strong message, her Black and White pieces were very realistic and modern and so was her evening wear. When it came to the intelligence segment she was forced to pause a bit again because of hecklers but according to observers her response to her question was on point.
Another person in speaking to Virgin Islands News Online following the show took the time to send a message to all the contestants especially those who did not place.
“You are all queens, you did very well and that’s without question. Prove to be real queens by doing the things you stood up on that stage and represented a prospective lawyer and all the other things. You can and must follow those dreams because for a few of us in the crowd you are true queens, live your dreams and be the best you can be. You showed a high level of strength by taking that stage with poise, grace and intelligence something the hecklers cannot do.”

Sounds like a way for BVIFFC to take money off of people. What a racket.
On the other hand, The contestants for Ms "Jr" BVI should Atleast be between ages 16-19.. Why is it Ms. Jr Bvi is 23 years and a contestant In Ms Bvi is age 18 years?
These girls were robbed of their prizes in last night show and that is just mean.
