ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – It will be a battle of beauty, intelligence and poise this Saturday, August 11, 2018, in the Virgin Islands (VI) when three contestants vie for the Miss World- British Virgin Islands (BVI) crown at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium, at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC).

The three damsels—Yadali Thomas Santos, Anika M. Christopher and Aaliyah Inniss—will converge on the stage from 7:00 PM, but at the end of the night, only one will saunter down the aisle as Miss World BVI 2018.

The event will be attended by the reigning Miss World BVI 2017, Helina A. Hewlett who will be sashing and crowing her successor.

Questions & Answers

As part of the competition, the three competitors were put through one round of the intelligence challenges of this year’s pageant when the ‘Questions and Answers’ segment was hosted at Village Cay, on August 8, 2018.

The winner of this year’s pageant will represent the Territory on the international stage in the 68th Miss World 2018 which will be held in Sanya, China on December 8, 2018.

Controversy

Miss Santos’ participation in the pageant has come under intense scrutiny and critique since she is not a Virgin Islander, by birth.

She does however, share strong family ties in the Virgin Islands and is qualified to take part in the pageant.

If we fully understand what (Miss World) is and stand for them we will Wish all the ladies the equal best. Miss World is highly based on beauty with a positive purpose. Each one have to commit to their social passion and used whatever tools they have to bring awareness and finance to help the cause.

Each lady have a positive vision in mind and I personally supporting them all and who ever win I’ll do my best to help them as I share the same love and passion. Yet ladies (note ) your beauty with a positive purpose goals are important and important you do what you can to get it off the ground. I wish the committee and anyone involved the positively best.
