I am saddened to hear of the passing of Beryl Vantetpool. She was one of those students that you could not forget. I served as her instructor for several courses as she pursued her BA in Elementary Education at UVI. When I think on her, I have to laugh as she had her way with words, but respectful as well. I had a good relationship with her. My condolences to her family and loved ones. May her soul rest in Eternal Peace,.

Oh My Gosh! This is so sad. Beryl and I started studies at UVI at the same time and what can I say but that she was one-of-a-kind! Somehow she followed a livestream from Anguilla two weeks ago when i read some poetry for an Emancipation Day program and she posted a comment - her way of saying goodbye? RIP my dear friend

I have been saddened when I heard the news of your passing. We became friends on Facebook on February 16th,2019 at 6:46pm. I have admired the passion you had for teaching or as you often say educator, and the love for those you have thought and children on a whole. During our friendship we have had many discussions and as I revealed my identity to you. We had discussed political issues, matters that effect the community, and the development for the British Virgin Islands. You stood up for the expatriates , you had spoken out on issues. Notwithstanding that you always proctect the integrity of the BVI.
We have lost a great icon of our society, thank you for your commitment to service. My condolences to the bereaved family and friends. RIP my friend.

The sudden and unexpected passing of Beryl “Teacher Bev” Vanterpool is great loss for both VG, the VI. She will be greatly and solely miss. Her students and the VI education system will miss her. She was a loud, consistent, and active community activist. Her community activism will be greatly missed. She leaves behind some BIG shoes to fill in her education contributions and her community activism. She has left an indelible mark on the VG community. A challenging Job well done. It is an example worthy of emulation. May she be remembered in VG and beyond. And may she rest eternal peace!
