ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Clothing trendsetters now have more variety on offer in the way of cool menswear with the opening of the new SwagCrew Male Urban Clothing store at Botanic Station in Road Town today, December 1, 2012.

The store, located immediately behind the Klippers Barbershop (opposite the Road Town Police Station), offers a wide array of urban threads to suit the specific tastes of men who intend to stand out.

Speaking with Virgin Islands News Online, entrepreneur Nicole Wheatley said her new venture evolved from a practice she had started way back after persons who admired her picks had started requesting that she order clothing for them online. The young Virgin Islander revealed that the actual concept for the store came after she sat down with her daughter one day and discussed the idea of bringing all these options together in one place. “My daughter said to me, ‘instead of bringing in clothes by pieces, why not open a small store?’” She liked the idea immediately.

Even though she is a female, she explained, her style of dress is “a little on the edge” masculine to be precise. I had some male friends come to me and said that they liked my swag… they liked the way that I dress.”

Nicole expects that SwagCrew would ultimately become a long term venture and one day hopes to expand the business to other places on the island as well as the variety on offer to include much more options including a boy’s section as many requests had come in from mothers she met with. It is hoped that this would come on stream sometime next year.

Once at the store, persons should expect to find affordably priced yet trendy denim jeans, polo t-shirts, tank tops, ‘button-down’ shirts, t-shirts as well as thermals. Among the wide variety of brands to choose from are LaVie, Rocawear, Crooks & Castles, BellField, Akademiks, LRG, Parish, LiveMechanics and much more. “I’m bringing something for almost everybody,” she said.

Persons can rest assured that all the products are genuine brands yet priced to meet everyone’s pocket. Nicole also related that some people even found the prices remarkably affordable, so much that they were unbelievable. Many persons have since welcomed the idea on her facebook page [SwagCrew male urban clothing] and she encourages others to stop by and hit the like button or drop messages to show their support and view some of the products on offer.

The store is open Monday – Friday 3PM-7PM and on Saturday from 9AM-7PM and Nicole can be reached at 340-0005 for directions or additional information.
