Suspected drunk driver charged for refusing to provide urine sample

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A resident of Cane Garden Bay has been charged for refusing to provide police with a blood/urine sample after he was pulled over for driving under the influence.

According to an arrest blotter from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) today, November 27, 2019, on Friday, November 22, 2019 at around 7:20pm, Police arrested and charged Kyle Ashford, 30, for Failure to Provide Specimen of Blood/Urine and Driving Drunk When in Charge of a Vehicle.

Ashford was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety and is to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on January 13, 2020.

BURGLARY

On 14-11-19 at 0925hrs, Police arrested and charged Sidney Varlack Malone, 64 of Fat Hog’s Bay for 2 counts of Burglary. He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

On 15-11-19 at 1730, Police arrested and charged Keithroy Joseph, 31 of Greenland for Burglary, Criminal Damage and Criminal Trespass. He was granted bail in his own recognizance to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 10-12-19 at 0900hrs.

On 22-11-19 at 1510hrs, Police arrested and charged a 16 year old male for 2 counts of Burglary. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 26-11-19 at 0900hrs.

ASSAULT OCCASSIONNG ACTUAL BODILY HARM

On 10-11-19 at 0640hrs, Police arrested and charged Ladisha Ells, 19 of Major bay for Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm, Criminal Damage and Affray. She was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 16-01-20 at 0900hrs.

On 13-11-19 at 0710hrs, Police arrested and charged Kemoy King, 22 of Duff’s Bottom for Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm. He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was granted bail in the amount of $60,000 with one signed surety to reappear before the Magistrate’s Court on 28-01-20 at 0900hrs.

On 19-11-19 at 1026hrs, Police arrested and charged J’Quoi Lloyd, 21 of East End for Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Reckless and Negligent Navigation of a Vessel. He was granted bail in the amount of $10,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 21-01-20 at 0900hrs.  

On 19-11-19 at 1026hrs, Police arrested and charged Shane Freeman, 33 of no fixed place of abode for Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Reckless and Negligent Navigation of a Vessel. He was granted bail in the amount of $10,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 21-01-20 at 0900hrs. 

ARMED WIH AN OFFENSIVE WEAPON

On 11-11-19 at 1520, Police arrested and charged Michael Small-Francis, 55 of Great Mountain for Armed with an Offensive Weapon, Drunkenness While in Charge of a Motor Vehicle and Reckless Driving. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 16-01-20 at 0900hrs.

DAMAGING PROPERTY

On 28-11-19 at 1840hrs, Police arrested and charges Kisted James, 31 of The Valley, Virgin Gorda. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 15-01-20 at 0900hrs.

COMMON ASSAULT

On 15-11-19 at 1410hrs, Police arrested and charged Davante Maduro, 27 of Long Bush for Common Assault, Threatening Language and Armed with an Offensive Weapon. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 23-12-19 at 0900hrs.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

On 17-11-19 at 0936hrs, Police arrested and charged Miguel Diaz, 40 of Purcell Estate for Criminal Trespass. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 23-01-20 at 0900hrs.

INDECENT LANGUAGE

On 10-11-19 at 0610hrs, Police arrested and charged Janyma Jennings, 19 of Greenland for Indecent Language, Insulting Language and Carrying an Offensive Weapon. She was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 16-01-20 at 0900hrs.

DRIVING WITHOUT DRIVER’S LICENSE

On 23-11-19 at 1512hrs, Police arrested and charged Anthony Davy, 34 of Long Look for Driving Without Driver’s License, Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle, Driving an Uninsured Vehicle, and Driving when not covered by a Policy of Third Party Risks. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 13-01-19 at 0900hrs.

She was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 16-01-20 at 0900hrs. This is very interesting, “charged for Affray”, so where is the other person who was involved in the fight, surely she cannot fight with herself, it takes two or more persons to be involve in a fight. On another note, how in God’s name can the police grant Keithroy Joseph bail in his own recognizance, seems like the bailing officer is more mad than Keithroy.
