@911, no emergency. Stop hating; it is more rewarding to support, not hate. If she were to be promoted to Commissioner, it will not be given to her; she will earn it.

Supt. (the first woman to hold this position in the RVIPF) Jacqueline E. Vanterpool congratulations on your selection to attend the UK College of Policing’s prestigious Strategic Command Course! Your rise in the RVIPF is a demonstrated personal example of perseverance, persistence, perspiration, aspiration and hard work; it is a career worthy of emulation. The altitude climbed is a clearly a function of a positive attitude and active leadership. No doubt, she will make the RVIPF and the VI people proud; she will do a “bang up” job. Francis E., Lennard, her mom, is flashing a warm, heavenly smile. Wish her continued success in her latest endeavour. We are rooting for you!

Superintendent Vanterpool probably can stand on her own two feet and needs genuine independent comment. This is just Uncle “bigging up” niece. But he always bigging up his family, ie, Director of Water and Sewage, former Chief Immigration Officer, Salt Island Descendants ......etc. But it is all good.

@La Familia, Supt. Jacqueline Vanterpool is well deserving of the comments. If she were not deserving of the comments, I wouldn’t have ascribe them to her, though she is my niece, to embarrass her and me. Moreover, family must support family; they must be there for them (family) even when they deviate from normal expected behavior. The VI diaspora abroad root for and is proud of the VI kin folks at home, as the African diaspora across the globe root for one another just as other nationalities across the globe do. We should not be hesitant or shy about publicly supporting family members when they are doing positive things. Similarly, in private, we shouldn’t be afraid to call them out/heart-to-heart when they are doing less than positive things.

Real talk! Nice to see family supporting family; it is healthy. We must build each other up, not tear each other down. The V.I. is one big family; the region is one big family. VG, the little nation as it is affectionately called and the heart of the tourism sector, and its people are on march. If you are from Spanish Town or North Sound grab something and wave.
