PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI- Reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online state that a disagreement over the decision of the Miss Junior BVI Pageant escalated into a brawl among supporters of contestants last night, July 10, 2016.

According to information reaching this news site, the issue was over some supporters being strongly of the opinion that the First Runner Up Deyse Turnbull should have been adjudged the winner. There was apparently a trade of words among supporters of contestants.

At least two persons were engaged in a physical brawl on the steps of the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium in Paraquita Bay, the venue of the Miss and Mr Junior BVI Shows.

Police were reportedly called in but, according to Sergeant Beverly James of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), no one was arrested.

“Police was called in to conduct investigations. No arrest was made in the matter,” said Sergeant James, who added that the issue was resolved without prosecution of persons involved.

Contestant number four Joi-Ann Nikia Thomas copped the prestigious title of Miss Junior BVI 2016/17 and copped awards for Miss Popularity, Miss Intellect, Miss Congeniality and Best Talent.

The First Runner Up, Turnbull, received awards for Most Poised, Best Black and White Affair and Best Evening Wear. The Second Runner up went to Dje’Moyia Smith who took the Miss Photogenic Award.

In all fairness, Keep D'Yese out of this. She had nothing to do with the behavior of her supporters. She has more rights here than many of you who was born here. It was the 2 guys that started it after the comment of contestant #5.

Since they ban big bikes and Jet Ski I am calling for a complete ban on all pageants in the BVI...Somebody always feels that someone else should have won...

@hmmm Please keep DJe'Moyia out of this equation as she never once uttered a word although she was kicked and pinned against a wall by Camari. Joi-Ann, DJe'Moyia, Kanya and J'Lessa are all winners in my eyes after all they gave a veteran in the pageant world a run for her money. that is a true example of when you underestimate individuals. It was utterly rude to degrade their accomplishments because Dyese did not win. she is no better than them and as such the Petersen chick comment was uncalled for. BVI please help me understand how a comment that the judges decision is final or since when twirling is modeling is offensive. Now what about Petersen's comment that "none of yall better than Dyese, none of yall can't model, none of yall better than Dyese". All this was said infront of DJe'Moyia will never uttered a word. So when the response was the judges decision is final there should not have been an issue where they felt the need to run two flight of stairs to attack anyone. So when you blogging give the facts. never once did DJe'Moyia blame Dyese for their actions so please back off of her while hiding behind the anonymity of the blogs. She is proud of her accomplishments and personal growth. Do not try and drag her down with your hate.
