ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Just in case you think he has gone away, well not so fast. The Territory’s most infamous police Officer Constable Glenn Callwood aka ‘Supa Cop’ is still on the traffic beat and issuing tickets to motorists throughout Tortola.

Our roving camera caught Mr Callwood issuing a ticket this evening Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at around 5:00 P.M. in Road Town the capital city in the area of the Wickham's Cay I roundabout.

Supa Cop can be seen almost daily enforcing the traffic laws and warning motorists to get their cars, trucks and motorbikes damaged after Hurricane Irma and Maria fixed, along with the usual issuing of traffic tickets for no seat belts, using cellular phones without hands free devices, broken or missing vehicle parts, and motorist driving in ways that he deemed dangerous.

A female Supa Cop?

Recently, Police Officer Callwood has with him a female who has been identified as Officer Teshema Smith, Auxiliary 326 and many have claimed that Ms Smith is starting to behave like “a female supa cop” even before she enters the police force.

While a large portion of the driving population in the Virgin Islands (VI) was able to repair, rent or replace their automobiles, there are still some residents who due to financial hardship are still not in a position to replace or even repair their Hurricane damaged vehicles.

No matter, i for one am glad they are on the beat. This place has been running amok with lawlessness. I see people constantly on the phones, no seat belts, idiots driving with their children in their laps, tinted windows, parking anyway they want, stopping to talk to a friend while holding up traffic, no insurance, no licenses, not stopping for pedestrians no matter how long it take them to cross, speeding and the list goes on. In no other country would they break the laws that they do here because they know the repercussions of their actions. I hope they get more Supa Cops to do the right thing.

Fantastic!! Now lets get 10 more doing the same and 5 dedicated to motor bikes and 5 dedicated to Highscholl fights. Maybe we can slow down the crime on this island.

I have said many times before, and will say it again. CHANGE THE LANES so that the right lane only turns right, and the left lane turns left or goes straight on to Waterfront drive. I dont understand why the powers that be cant see the sense in this.

@Nick great idea but road to small. We just need to obay the law. Sometimes we are in a rock and hard place with traffic back up. Not only that some of us our patience is short. Time for us take responsibility for our actions.

Great cops and very good combination. I visualize great potential from this new rookie she will make this country proud. Some may not like her style but just wait and see her rise to the top. She knows how to multi task which is positive and would bring light to her job.

I usually applaud Supacop but where he stopped that car right on the exit for the round about yesterday was ridiculous. Several accidents were nearly caused. Why he couldn't have directed the driver to a safe place to stop on Water Front Drive?

Supa cop was handing out traffic tickets the day before Irma while everyone was trying to get ready. No respect for that man!

So, because you getting ready for a hurricane you should behave like you are in the wild west? Run over all in your way --- and then say "Sorry, I didn't mean to kill him? We in the Virgins need to put aside weed, greed, need!
      • No so supa (13/04/2018, 08:56) Like (6) Dislike (0) Reply
Not the wild west. But I am pretty sure the community didn't need a traffic jam because he was checking the color of peoples windscreens. There is a time and place for everything and stopping people to check their wind screen and thereby causing a traffic jam is not really suitable when a big hurricane is coming.

FYI, he did not stop me or give me a ticket. I have no problems obeying the law.

Aww hell no. Supa cop only comes out around pay day. You check it. Any other time he's out cruising but come pay period hes right by that round about. They don't police the areas like by cedar school blind corner and as soon they leave town buses stop wherever the hell they want to pick up passengers. This is why people can't respect the police. Too inconsistent and don't get me started on scooters thru traffic. There's a small percentage of riders that obey the law. The rest couldn't care less. Weave thru traffic no helmet. Anyways I'm hoping for better in the future because people right now don't feel obliged to even share tips and info with the police.
