ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Summer Sizzle BVI will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary as a four-day event beginning from July 26 through 29, 2018 with the slogan - "Rebuild, Restore, Revive the BVI and inspire the next generation," according to organisers.

Nigel Barker, world-renowned photographer, TV personality, author and former judge of America’s Next Top Model, will once again host the spectacular event on Tortola.

Summer Sizzle BVI is committed to helping the community recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma and Maria and is, therefore, collaborating with the Department of Social Services and the Ministry of Education and Culture. In light of this, the event will begin on Thursday, July 26, 2018, with a Hurricane Relief Community Service Day programme where volunteers including models, designers, celebrities will participate in a community cleanup, according to a press release issued earlier this week out of New York, USA.

“They will also participate in efforts for obtaining and distributing school supplies to students through the Family Support Network (FSN).”

Terry T. Donovan, the founder of Summer Sizzle BVI, said, “The Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies (VISTS) has partnered with Summer Sizzle BVI creating a series of workshops for Friday, July 27 that caters to youths interested in the areas of the business of fashion, makeup and hairstyling. Students from high schools throughout the BVI are invited to attend with limited space.”

Additionally, Summer Sizzle BVI will be hosting a photography workshop which would also be held on Friday, July 27 with Nigel Barker with limited space. The Summer Sizzle BVI glam squad has also arranged to award a hair and makeup package to 6 top-graduating females from Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) on their Graduation Day.

The press release stated that Summer Sizzle BVI had organised an event with its aim to rebuild, restore and revive the VI. The team has developed a programme designed to inspire the youths of the VI in ways beneficial to their future careers.

A tourist event

The event is also expected to attract past and future visitors to the beautiful islands who are all eager to experience the runway shows, sailing excursions, island tours, festive parties, sumptuous dining, and fabulous entertainment that only the VI can offer.

Thus far sponsors include, Virgin Islands News Online, BVI Tourist Board, Popeye’s, BVI Promotions, JTV, Jahphix, JY Harbour View Marina, My Beauty Unlimited, Bob’s Gas & Service Station, Game On Inc, and Green Tech.
