BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Police are said to be investigating an alleged incident where a gunshot was reportedly fired following a dispute at a basketball court in Baughers Bay, Tortola, around 7:30pm, last evening, June 30, 2020.

According to reports reaching our newsroom, there was an argument between two men when one of them left the area but returned soon after with a firearm.

The man allegedly fired the weapon, sending persons running for cover.

One man was reportedly taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital with an injury to one of his feet; however, it is unclear if the injury was a bullet wound.

There have also been conflicting reports as to whether police recovered a spent shell; however, our newsroom was informed that witnesses have refused to cooperate with police.

    then charge them for being an acomplice in the crime, if they were there then they joined in if they chose not to say who the person was discharging the firearm. This is why crime is rife in the communities.

      If they do not want to give info to the Police, I understand. Police lips are too loose. When you give them info they calling your name in their circles and to criminals.

    When two people have a dispute and one decide to leave, the other one better get to stepping because when the other comes back, something bad is going to pop off. When I was living in New York I remember a young lady and a young man had a dispute and the young lady beat the living daylights out of the young man, he left and came back with a gun and shot the young lady 6 times killing her.

      How the flipping heck the Governor get in this? All these wanna be “bad boys” don’t want to do anything to make a better life for themselves, always hiding their fear behind a gun! They need to get their act together and change their thug mentality and become someone of benefit to our community. All of us need to help fight this cause to change our young men for the better. Give them the love and encouragement that they aren’t getting.

    The mere fact that this punk coward couldn't just fist fight like men usually do, he comes back a fires into a crowd sending people looking for cover. The fact that he could have injured or killed someone, would prompt me to write an anonymous letter to the police giving his name, where he lives, hangs out, work, etc. He had no regard for lives, so he doesn't deserve to be in the public, just jail!
