Sharie deCastro relishing Miss BVI experience
Miss deCastro, a 4th generation Virgin Islander, was crowned Miss BVI 2012/2013 on August 5.
Virgin Islands News Online was able to catch up with the radiant queen at the recent Miss BVI Talented Teen Scholarship Pageant to get her comments on the experience so far as Miss BVI.
“It has been really good...an amazing opportunity to meet people and to promote the BVI culture and heritage,” was the prompt response of Miss deCastro.
The new Miss BVI had captured the majority of prizes on offer including Miss Congeniality, the People's Choice award, Miss Poised, Best Talent, Best BVI Promotional Speech, Best Personal Interview and Miss Intellect. Miss deCastro also won for herself a car, scholarship, trip with the BVI Tourist Board and $5,000 in wardrobe.
And of course we asked the queen her thoughts on the Miss BVI Talented Teen Pageant 2012. “I think it was a very enjoyable pageant, very fair, the young ladies displayed a lot of talent, poise and intellect as well and I am really happy for Kamyce Penn (Miss BVI Talented Teen 2012). I consider her to be a little sister... She is a very close friend of mine.”
Meanwhile, Miss deCastro was last spotted at the opening of the Domestic Violence Awareness Conference on October 12, 2012 at the St. George’s Anglican (Episcopal) Church on Main Street where she delivered a powerful poem on the subject “Domestic Violence” before whisking off to another function.

To Where - It is none of your business where Sharie de Castro was when her grandparents - William and Josephine celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. But since you are so nosey - The Rhymers will tell you where she was. She was at Round Hill with her grandparents when they celebrated their anniversary on September 25th, 2012. She was the one grandchild making jokes and having fun with her grandparents and we all had an enjoyable time with them. "Where" because you did not see a photo of her on the news sites you drew your own conclusions. You need to mind your own business and find something constructive to blog on.

Sharie - "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Mathew 5; 14-16
