Selvin Chinnery sentenced to 8 years in prison
Mr Chinnery, was also sentenced to 3 years in prison for a charge of unlawful possession of explosives.
The sentences will run concurrently.
Background
The court heard that on April 16, 2016, officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) received information that led them to conduct a search of his home in Jost van Dyke.
The search revealed a .22 pistol firearm along with 3 rounds of ammunition and explosives.
Subsequently, he pleaded guilty on all three accounts.
The Senior Magistrate told the court the recommendations to be lenient when handing down sentencing on the defendant were not taken into consideration because he was previously charged with a reckless act, where he intentionally used a nail gun to cause harm.

Blessings
A 22 is the smallest gun around.
It can kill you like any other gun, but I think you more stand a chance of surviving depends on which part of your body you are shot.
