PROSPECT REEF, Tortola, VI – A security guard formerly employed with Vanguard Security owned by the pair of Brian Penn and Harinder Steven-Penn alleges to be owed over $2,000 in unpaid wages. This was disclosed when the trial for alleged failure to keep proper records among other charges continued today July 21, 2015.

The duo faces allegations of obtaining property by deception, failure to keep proper records, evasion of liability by deception, destroying or concealing documents, failing to issue certificates to employees on termination, failing to record contributions, and failure to make payments to the Social Security Board [SSB] among others.

They appeared again today before Magistrate Ayana Baptiste-DaBreo at the Prospect Reef Magistrate's Court during which more witnesses took to the stand.

One witness, who was employed by the couple, testified to not receiving any payslips accompanying his wages. He did acknowledge receiving his wages.

He alleged not receiving any payslips for the last half of 2009 and the first half of 2010 and also for periods during the years 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Another ex-employee testifies

Another ex-employee who appeared on the witness stand testified of receiving no payslips for varying periods.

The man, Michael Brower, testified to having been employed with Vanguard Security said to be owned by Brian Penn.

He said he started out working for 40 hours a week but this varied. He said he started working for some $5 an hour but this was increased to $6 after some time.

According to Brower, he was instructed to set up an account at Scotiabank in order for the company to send his wages to his account. He testified that he would be informed by text message that his wages were deposited in his bank account.

He said that while he would document his hours worked and match them against his wages collected, some of the time there were discrepancies and when he brought these to the attention of the Penns, they promised to rectify but over the course of time never did so. He said he resigned on February 21, 2012.

The couple returns to court on November 10, 2015.

    Psalm 91
    1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
    2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”
    3 Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
    4 He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
    5 You will not fear the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
    6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
    7 A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
    8 You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.
    9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
    10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
    11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
    12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
    13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
    14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
    15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
    16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”

      They mean well? These are locals who are CRIMINALS disguised as legit citizens. They took every advantage of non indigenous people because nobody would listen to there complaints. It had a security guard who lost or nearly lost his vehicle cause they pay the man half wage for 2months! No explanantion and the man showing up to work every day but justice will not be served cause he is a PENN and probably related to MA..ON so you know how this going end. But just like the French Revolution when poor people had enough ALL YOU GUYS GOING TO KNOW.
