Scotiabank has new Managing Director: Sarah Hobbs

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Sarah Hobbs has been appointed Managing Director of Scotiabank BVI, according to a press release from the financial institution.

As Managing Director, Sarah is responsible for developing, communicating and implementing the Bank’s local business strategy, business goals and core values for the country’s operations in alignment with Scotiabank’s Corporate strategies.

Before moving to BVI, Sarah was the Centre Director of the Scotia Private Client Group, Caribbean Hub, in Cayman. In this role she worked with a regional team of experts to deliver best in class advice and tailored solutions for high net worth individuals.

Sarah has extensive Retail, Commercial, Wealth Management, Risk Management and Operations experience. She began her career with Scotiabank in 1997 and has held several key positions over the years including Senior Manager Business Support, Head of Commercial Banking and Director Retail Banking in Belize responsible for successfully championing a network of 11 branches. Sarah has worked with the Bank in several countries over her career and has also been involved in strategic initiatives related to the English Caribbean Region.

Sarah holds a Master’s Degree in International Business with distinction from the University of South Carolina with concentrations in Finance and Marketing. She has served on several Bank Boards and is actively involved in charitable organizations.
