This morning within the space of five minutes I saw five bikes. Only one rider was wearing a helmet.

@lodger, that’s just how the foolish young men in this territory are, total disregard for law and order, do not value their own lives and the safety of others. When they mash up themselves, let the police investigate and then their parents bury them. The parents are equally to be blame, first of all let’s asked ourselves, where these young men got the money from to buy bikes, secondly where do they keep those bikes. The thing that trouble me most is that parents know their kids have scooters, they ride around without license, without insurance, without helmets, then when they get into accident and mash up other people or their vehicle, the same parents come along and want to offer money to settle the matter before the police get involve

Can't blame all of the parents ! Some of these guys think they are men, and so accordingly have no respect or desire to listen to their parents. Most of them loved outside their parents' dwellings and feel like they are immortal. Unfortunately, it's other pedestrians and drivers sometimes suffer the trauma. So after being battered and bruised, these riders live to discard their ignorant ways. God help them!

Why are people allowed to drive scooters with no helmet?

I’ve read @Jaigon’s response and I totally agree with it and I also agree with parts of Jaigon’s statement..these young people and older persons riding without helmets they don’t value their lives no matter how many accidents they hear about or the number of deaths- and it’s not that they don’t know the dangers of riding without helmets they are just down right stupid..they would spend money on stupid “wants”, but the thing they “need” they will not.. who don’t hear will feel.. leave them- the foolish ones all have an appointment with the pavement or a vehicle crash - sad but true.. also some of the police officers would see them and not enforce the law so they as well are partly to blame..I would see persons from other countries wearing helmets and then see one of our ignorant persons ride by and isn’t wearing one.. more education (though the IGNORANT will not listen)and police ENFORCEMENT of the law is needed.
