ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Sasha Wintz delivered a commanding performance during what can be described as a spectacular staging of the Who’s Next Finale of the Top 7@7 at the UP’s Cineplex Crystal Ballroom last evening, March 8, 2014.

Standing confidently before an awestruck audience of several hundred, Sasha may very well have been mistaken for Celine Dion as she ‘owned’ Jennifer Rush’s ‘Power of Love’ with incredibly powerful and breathtaking vocals.

Dressed in a shimmering red gown, Sasha appeared the clear crowd favourite even before her emergence on the stage, as the mere introduction of her performance brought screaming fans to their feet.

By the end of an engaging and truly delightful set, Sasha had managed to convert not only the crowd, but also the judges into adoring fans as well with one judge commenting that music executives may have another Rihanna in the making.

Sasha won a mobile phone courtesy of CCT Global Communications and watch after garnering the most votes through texts sent by fans.

While describing her performance as a ‘slam dunk’, A&R Executive at RCA Records, Wayne Williams assured Sasha that she would be receiving his business card. BET’s Kelly Griffin also called her a star and said the audience should rally around her as he invited her to the United States to become a participant in BET’s Music Matters showcase.

Earlier, Follow The Movement’s President, Craig A. Lake aka DJ Push Pop, expressed to the audience that the finalists were no longer in a competition at this stage, but were instead each standing at the door of an opportunity to have their own record deal.

The music executives also heaped praises on Calden James, whose signature covers of John Legend’s songs such as ‘All of Me’ and ‘Tonight’ have perhaps become synonymous with the teenager’s steadily growing appeal.

James similarly dressed the part and made his presence felt on the stage, engaging the audience and even the judges, despite moments of difficulty with his vocals as he moved through his set.

The Virgin Islands’ reigning Miss World, Kirtis Kassandra Malone, also gave an impressive account of herself and was highly praised for her delivery after she entertained the audience with a cover of ‘Say Something’ by A Great Big World. As with most of the contestants, however, music executives advised that she consult with a vocal coach to assist with improving her technique and allowing her to achieve even greater heights.

Other finalists for the evening, Epik & Neeks, Kamyce Penn, Rochelle Lewis and Marvin Bramble also gave commendable performances and were given praises and similar advice by the judges.

After the show, Lake gushed with pride as he told the audience of the FTM’s trying journey leading up to hosting the seventh annual Top 7@7 show adding things could only get better.

At the end of it all, popular singer-songwriter duo, Planet VI was not to be outdone as they put on a highly energetic set that had fans singing along right through to the close.
