Nothing is about being smart nowadays. Just be pretty and you'll win it all. Crazy!

Was thinking the same freaking thing. They knew who they had at the forefront from the beginning. Like, have you heard that girl speak? And they said all the girls are intelligent? How did she rank in her high school class? And she is suppose to represent us abroad? I sat and watched the show in silence, I knew fully well what the outcome was going to be. Full blown popularity contest. I wanted to walk out of that auditorium.

I think the pictures on Facebook were fair, in terms of appearing to give every girl a shot at the spotlight. For example in the cover photo Sasha was in the back. But in the 'official and professional' group photos, they really made an effort to make Sasha stand out more. Especially the one where the four of them are in the bathing suit. Sasha is the one that sticks out. Not because she looks the best, but because of her position in the picture. But oh well. We all know who they wanted. No surprise there.

This show was staged. They knew who they wanted. This is about looks and not about being smart. Come on, the only thing she has going is her looks and her voice.

I know the show was staged. But I thought they wanted Yadali, not Sasha. Because Yadali is not only beautiful, she is smart along with the other two girls. Sasha is beautiful also, and has a lovely voice. But intelligent, I don't know. Maybe if they work with her and prep her good she might be able to come off as somewhat smart.

No one is surprised. We all hoped it would be a fair and just show for once. Put it was not as usual. And I'm saying this as someone who wasn't rooting for any of the girls. And from my observation of everything this young lady should not have won. I must say she is pretty, but jot as pretty as everyone is making her out to be. I think it has something to do with her popularity that makes her 'seem' prettier than she really is. If that makes sense.

I hear you point but this show was indeed a cheat. And it was their one opportunity to prove to the public that a professional and fair show could be had.

All the girls stumbled on stuff. You people! Sasha had the best introduction but didn't get it because Bryana won by using emotion. Yadali didn't get best swimwear which she deserved. Bryana's talent was good but she never touched the stage and Yadali and Mindy's were better. Yet Bryana got it. Sasha's choice of song didn't do her justice but she still worked the stage and performed it well. Mindy deserved intellect, she was the only one that answered her question hands down, Yadali tried, Sasha as well after stumbling but Bryana was totally lost. Sasha hands down for evening wear. Now tell me, while others won swimwear and intellect Sasha was still up there with the points in those categories. Interview carries high points and Bryana scored very low. Mindy's talent was good but Yadali had the edge but of course Bryana got it. Sasha also did awesome in the question and answer. You people are something else. If someone else had won it would be an issue anyway. Let the girls be.

I got to the shownwhen Contestant#1 was going on stage and just what you've said, in my opinion ii's the same.Persons began walking out after hearing persons being awarded for some categories because they thought it wasn't to be. However the show went on and the winner was crowned.,and the majority was in favour of who was being crowned

Well duh the majority of people are in favour of who was crown because she is popular and has the most supporters. Everyone knows that. That's the only reason she won. She might have done well in the introduction. But the introduction is something that is memorized. Sasha cannot speak English when it comes to answering questions that she did not have time to prepare for. Did you hear her on the radio station? Did you hear her on JTV? If this show was about being pretty and looking sexy, then okay, Sasha deserved it. But this show should be more than that if we are looking to finally place in the Miss World Competition.

All the girls are beautiful. But, does Sasha have the same intellectual capacity as them? No. Can Sasha answer questions with out breaking out into barely comprehendible speech? No. We're just saying.

It's about wanting to send someone smart to represent us. Of course beauty is a must, but it should never come before being intelligent. Even if Yadali won the show, having not won any segments, most people wouldn't really have a hard time coping, because she is very smart and would be able represent us. This young lady is pretty ( not as pretty as people make her out to)- popularity has a lot to do with that- but can she even make us place in the Miss World show with just a nice evening wear, good voice and looking "pretty"?

Mindy won Miss Congeniality aka Intellect and didn't place. Bryanna won most segments, and Yadali and the two girls mentioned before all did great on JTV and the radio. The fact that none of those three girls won let's us know what this show is really about and why the BVI never reaches far on the international stage. We care about someone being pretty and them winning a singing competition means they have what it takes to represent the country.

I'm realizing that most persons are after contestant #1, who won 3 segments of which carried points. Have we ever looked at how close in points for other segments might have been for her in other segments and the same with regards to her segments won. How were these points allocated . Did contestant #3 got any segments NO!!!! But yet she got 1st runner up, yet no one is referring to that ..being intelligent and not presenting what the judges were looking says a lot. I pray that we embrace the youths of this territory,we are too swift to ridicule. Same thing was done with the girls who took part in the recent Ms British Virgin Islands Pageant and the basketball clinic where persons were chosen. This is an ongoing thing and it should not be. People here are talking about her looks as "average" .... and tearing at her intelligence... Yes. One is to expect criticism when entering the public eye. But some of us can do a little better on this forum... It is Like we have nothing to do but nitpick at the winner. She has won, BVI get over it... and support our crowned queen or get out her way. This defamation will not help her or build her morale when she stands in front of thousands abroad... she NEEDS bvi support not hate from her own people. That's something you don't just get in two months., is something that grows withthing a person with efforts to learn. Sasha your a pretty girl but I hope your family pushes the committee to give you all the training in the world -- and pray its enough to prepare you for Miss World. I'm not sure how miss photogenic alone gave you enough points to win.

I'm not coming to another Miss World or Miss BVI because these people in these committee is just JOKE and its not fair to the girls who struggled to come up with the funds to compete. They deserve a fair competition!!!

      @ MISS WORLD Committee comment

If you knew anything about pageantry you wouldn't of made the statement ' I'm not sure how miss photogenic alone gave you enough points to win.' You don't need to win every segment to win a show, take Miss BVI 2011 Abigail Hyndman for example. Ms. Hyndman only won one segment which was (POISE), while Ms. Guishard that year won, Talent, Photogenic, Popularity, Evening Wear, Cultural Wear if I remembered clearly.

Once a contestant is consistent and wins one of the high scoring segment like evening wear, talent or intellect she can win the show by a few points.

The committee only had two months to prepare the girls for this show I am aware of, and the show was much better than Miss BVI show this year. I would like to encourage those who are very negative to support her on her journey to China, at the end of the day she will be representing the BVI. Why post all these childish, small minded and discouraging comments on here for the whole world to see that we don't even support our own?

Just encourage the young lady to do well, and pray that she will will represent the BVI to the best of her ability.

Okay, let's pretend that Sasha did score very high in all of the segments even though she did not win them all. That still does not take away from the fact that we need someone intelligent representing us.I am sure Sasha did score the most points. Points that she did not deserve, of course because the show was staged, which everyone knows. Of course the judges are going to give her the most points, she is who they wanted from the start. Everyone who is backing her up is missing the point. Can Sasha represent us with her brains? No, Not without some very intense and out of the ordinary training. Anyways, good luck to her.

Maybe now people would understand when I said the committee needs to set higher standards/qualifications for such a show. I understand older women meaning age 22 -24/26 maybe; might not find interest in participating for shows because they either have kids or just don't have the time or some the body but as a said before when they first reveled the girls I was like this is all about looks .. None of them as experience life on a scholar level which is needed when having to go overseas to represent for the Territory and most of all the committee allows any to run once they are seen to be decent looking with a decent background or just who they know and who they belong to which will always be on of Tortola downfall because people fail to realize that there's a lot of persons who is just belongers with parent/s born here. So people "from hea" need to cut out the BullPiss about who born here from who ain't born here I am an individual not born hea but have a local last name raise here and not a man jack could Bug me when they learn my background because this is home either if i like it or not. So understand there is also better looking belongers ! And no race is a pure race! So cut the local bs out and BVI COMMITTEE STEP YALL GAME UP AND TRAIN THESE WOMEN/YOUNG WOMEN FOR AT LEAST A YEAR BEFORE HAVING THE SHOW AND GIVE THE PEOPLE MORE OF A CHANCE TO GET TO KNOW EACH INSTRESTED PERSONS THAT WILL GO OUT TO REPRESENT THE Territory and when it's time to have our local show people might actually stand a chance to say that the show was fairly judge once there is no local judges ! As well but person who have experience in the pageant industry !

You people sad. Bryana must have scored 0 for question and answer. Mindy is the only one that scored high in that. Sasha and Yadali were shaky. But other than talent what did Mindy say. She was lacking energy especially in the intro. Sasha may have rehearsed the intro as someone said (they all did) but she was way above in the Q & A as well. Bryana's inspiring grandma and Mindy's Eve joke still couldn't bring them close. Did Sasha rehearse the Q & A as well. Bryana's emotion was good but what did she really say in her intro, it left me thirsty. Mindy was flat there. The show wasn't about beauty or popularity, it was about what happened on stage. So, right then, right there all the brainiacs should have come forward since you feel Sasha didn't deserve it. At the end, the show was between Sasha and Mindy because Bryana did so poor on her interview. Yes, Sasha may not be the best speaker but she outdid those on stage at that time at that point. Now, encourage her and stop judging the judges. We not talking about who you think intelligent, tell them flaunt it on stage. Judges scored based on what they saw. All lovely young ladies, too bad their supporters are so dark and muggy.

The truth be told the BVI does not understand true pageantry. There is too much bias that goes on in these show.

By the time the bloggers tear apart each contestant, it would either make them stronger or break their self esteem.

There are more important roles we can prepare our young ladies for- I.e. Mentor. Activist, Leadership etc.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Yet some young woman may feel she is not beautiful because she did not win. Bear in mind that not all the contestants are on a mature level. How many of them truly love themselves no matter their flaws?

Mindy was too dark-skinned for them. Not that Sasha is a real redbone. But just saying. We dark skin people need to stick together!!

Yh, her parents are, but she is a belonger. Were your parents born in the BVI? And if not, are you a citizen of their country? No. So stop talk crap on blogs. The girl already got her brains to work on, don't start up people on her belonger status.

So did people want Bryana to win after the girl said NHI helps to build roads 0.0'' .. ?? Everyone put in a decent amount of effort yes, but honestly none of them was ready for that show, one person for sure didnt need to even participate, but in the end a person was selected and just have to live with that
