RVIPF officers complete leadership training
The training consisted of a total of 24 participants, mainly consisting of newly promoted and substantive Inspectors along with Sergeants awaiting promotion at the appropriate time. It addressed Interview Skills for Supervisory officers, broadening previously gained skills allowing them to embrace a supervisory capacity whereby they may identify areas for development within junior officers.
Further to this, a lengthy programme of Management and Leadership Skills was delivered, which consisted of seven modules covering such diverse areas as Human Rights and Discrimination, Values, Beliefs, Conditioning and Limiting Assumptions. Other areas included communication, decision making and conflict resolution, leadership and management, mentoring coaching and networking. The course ended with a module on work life balance.
All participants engaged fully with the course, demonstrating a level of understanding and knowledge as is required by officers of Inspector rank within the RVIPF. They are all to be congratulated on completion of this difficult, intensive and at times demanding course.
