Royal Caribbean Unveils “Revitalized” Vision of the Seas
MIAMI — Royal Caribbean has officially debuted its “revitalized” Vision of the Seas cruise ship.
The Vision of the Seas, which made its maiden voyage in 1998, underwent a month-long renovation in October that included a totally revamped interior, new restaurants and updated staterooms.
All of the staterooms received upgrades that included the addition of flat-panel LED televisions.
The ship’s changes included a new R Bar, Viking Crown Lounge and the Giovanni’s Table, Izumi Asian Cuisine, Park Cafe and Chops Grille restaurants.
The ship’s Centrum has been converted into an entertainment venue, with aerial performances and a light show; the ship additionally installed an oversized outdoor movie screen and refurbished the Masquerade Theater.
The project is part of an across-the-board upgrade for the Royal Caribbean fleet, with 12 ships already having been enhanced. Another four ships are slated for enhancements in 2014-2015, according to the company.
